Here's one way to run this method right-assuming one of the cabinet's is 8 ohms. Biamp on! Crossover to taste, levels to balance cab volumes - Zero phase issues.

I have got no idea if the OP powers his cabs with a 1000watt amplifier or just a 100 watt amplifier.

Car analogies,
I might also predict the mileage of gallons per 100 miles for an V8 engine while I'm driving a smallisch Vauxhall or VW vehicle. Any predictions make no sense nothing at all without knowing anything.

Yes, it's done all the time.

No. Only in context of 4 speskers vs 1 speaker.

e.g., 1000w amp
4 speakers get 500w=125w per spkr.
1 speaker gets 500w=500 per speaker

When the 1 speaker begins to fart out, you're done.

That may in fact be a good power balance for mechanical power handling.

If you point the 15"cab towards the back wall, and unplug it, you will get the best sound out of the 410.

But where should you place it? On top of the 410, or under the 410, or behind the 410 back-to-back?

For metal, place the 15" cab under the 410, facing the wall, unplugged.

For blues, place the 15" cab on the front of the stage under the tip jar, unplugged. You can face it any direction.

If I only have 1 cabinet but need to produce a tonal tidal wave, I stack some heavy rocks on top of the cabinet to keep it low. But that only works when playing rock music.

There ain't NO 'solution.' If the cabs were designed right they'd be matched properly (impedance, sensitivity and SPL).

Cone area, 4 10's are greater than an 18! Of course the VC is also a factor.

And I'll always prefer my 1-18 over all other cabs I own. Heavy cab...Heavier sound! Breath of Thor contained within!

Not sure why I never thought of this before when we talk about 410 and 115 cabs being a poor match.

Put the 115 on top and 410 on the bottom. That way the 410 will get more of the lows that need more power to reproduce. It might look a little strange since we're used to seeing the other way around, but some dark fabric under the grilles will hide which cab is on top and vice versa. Problem solved! Can't wait to try it out tonight!

i've never had a problem, but ive only used them as backlines..

honestly? i'm so sick in the head i'd want them both on the floor if i had the space. but like i said - i might be crazy.
