Building amps?
I built myself a 100w superbass, and am working on a 50w amp using a Univox 1235 Power amp, and a Pre amp using old WWII broadcast tubes.

And have either of you two with the epi's modded them for better bass response? I hated mine on bass.
I really should post a pic of my mini-mat. It sounds decent on bass for low volume recording....

I got mine from Shane Ratdke, from British Audio Service, who hand picked it, did some minor mods (upgraded some of the wiring, I think), and who tried a bunch of tubes and picked the best ones for that particular head.
Yeah, cleaning up the wiring was a must on mine. It still sits unused though after trying some different values here and there. I guess I lost interest.
I did the same to mine. You can flip the head around in the cab (which is what I did so you get the front cut out at the top positioned on the back where it actually helps you see your outputs) or use the back cover on the front. So its pretty easy to get that look.

Huh. Well, it's a pretty sweet look. I'll have to remember that... I've been eyeballing VJr's for a while now, it's just a matter of finding the right deal before I have one.

another reason why i did mine was cos the tubes were getting too hot with the grill at the back and now its not as bad

I'm really interested in a Little Bastard, and would love to hear more of what actual users have to say. I know it will do well at home and in a studio, but I've got the B15 for that. I'm looking for a gig amp. I think the LB could do it... I'd be running it with a Berg AE212. Would appreciate any sharing about the LB!

That black screen is the BACK of the head/cab. You turn the amp itself around in the head/cab. It makes sense if you have one to look at yourself.
I've been eyeballing VJr's for a while now, it's just a matter of finding the right deal before I have one.

The wwII tube based pre amp i didn't design, but had a friend design, and i am currently building. You got to love it when NOS tubes are $2.80...
Here is the only pic I can find where you can see the cab well. It's under my Sound City L200 in this pic.

My old guitar player used to use one of those Traynor amps... Awesome guitar amp.
Anyone ever use one for bass?
