Acoustic.

It sounds very nice but the acoustic volume will not keep up with other instruments.

seems to be a common thread with the acoustics. My cheap Ibanez sounds okay, but wwaaaay too quiet. And it's not super great through an amp.

Loud ABGs exist. They's just rare, big, and expensive. But they're out there. Or in here, rather (I've got examples of most of the top contenders here.) The Emerald Balor and the Maruszczyk Svoboda are the current co-kings of acoustic volume, in my book.

Aren't the "loud" ones usually the size of a small Coast Guard vessel?

Nah, you can easily carry one in a 16' Boston Whaler.

Some day I will own a Tune fretless 6. Preferably the hollow body one, but that style would do as well.

Here's my Ibanez BTB846SC that I scored for a great price. It had not been maintained by whoever owned it previously - no tension on the truss road, high frets from 13 up - but a good step and fret leveling later, I got an awesome bass that alternates being my number 1 alongside my Jack Casady. I originally named it "Great Blue Whale" due to its shape but have rechristened it "Bertha". By the way, no one gives you grief for having a 6 string if you show up with one for a jam/Dead style band. I have to get a better picture that shows off its color.

I was lucky enough to score my ESP LTD B-206SM for $250.

These are great basses! I’ve played them at the local Sam Ash and was impressed with the tone (thanks Bartolini - the preamp is still Ibby though). And I’m gassing for an identical TE rig like yours.

That's the small TE rig. I have 2 2x8's as well.

A number of people have commented how easy the bass is to play. It does not feel like a 35" scale and it is so light and well balanced. The Bartolini pre-amp gives a really wide range of sounds. If I only needed one bass, this would be it. But, of course, we all now we NEED more than one - LOL.

Well, it's a $1200 bass and other than the bad setup it was like new for $700. A friend leveled the frets for $20.

How does the 2-2x8 setup sound compared to the 2x10 configuration? I’m curious about that; personally I’d prefer the two 10’s for portability (IME at Bass Central a while back) and for volume; two 2x8 cabs should sound good.
