Here are my 3 Marusczcyk frogs.
2011 Blue fretted frog, Delano pickup humbucker and single coil, glockengang 2band preamp, SC/hb switch for the humbucker
2018 eye poplar fretted frog, Delano times square pickups, Delano 3 band preamp, serial/parallel/SC switch per pickup.
2014 green fretless frog, bassculture humbucker and single coil, passive, serial/parallel/SC switch for the humbucker.

Anthony Jackson played on Al Dimeola's album "Land of The Midnight Sun"
Jaco played on the tune "Suite: Golden Dawn"
I can imagine they likely talked and MAYBE played each others basses.
A.J. was probably using "Career Girl" on Al's album.
But maybe Jaco got to play A.J.'s Carl Thompson 6.
Somehow I don't see Jaco as being closed minded to A.J's 6.

I also only "need" 4... but this isn't the "what would you bring to a desert island to survive" quiz. And I'd bet that Jaco would've had a six, because there was a dude who pressed musical boundaries and explored musical envelopes.
He also made the most of limitations, but the whole Jaco disclaimer is not a musical argument- it's some kind of old-farmer-stylee badassery, brandished at people who are moving into new territory, unencumbered by limitations that were the standard of their forbears.
So that old line really just doesn't carry any water.

Yup I have those 6 strng basses and some other basses with 6 strings as well. You forgot my Yamaha TRB6II (made in japan) and my Pedulla MVP6. And a bunch of other six string basses in my studio. I have for you some fresh pics of my trb6ii and mvp6:

Maybe sx would be the most affordable. Keisel is supposed to be affordable, but I think they're around the same price as comparable ibanez... And even more if you have any options. I think anyway.
