Pardon my mis-type (thumbs on phone), thanks @gebass6 for turning me on to the Six String Bass Club! Doh.Ok, this is a new experience, this six string thing. The most impressive difference for me is the size of the instrument! I'm still playing lke I do on a 4 string, but I see possibilities opening up for new approaches, alternate positions/fingerings, and voicings.
Thanks @gebass60 for hipping me to the Sixers' club!
Here's my offering, a first-gen Peavey TL-Six, gotten from TB'er bassman28. This one's been aftermarket-equipped with a Bartolini 3-band pre, and I'm a-digging it...

Sure, let's have one o' them numbers you got there...
I also only "need" 4... but this isn't the "what would you bring to a desert island to survive" quiz. And I'd bet that Jaco would've had a six, because there was a dude who pressed musical boundaries and explored musical envelopes.I will say it again, Jaco only needed 4 strings. just saying.
Well, fine! Over at the Thunderbird Club we are like having them- different cult though!I don't know who is handing out numbers.

That said, I own more than 10 high end six string basses and I'm not a member of this club? Really?![]()
Maybe sx would be the most affordable. Keisel is supposed to be affordable, but I think they're around the same price as comparable ibanez... And even more if you have any options. I think anyway. While we are here: what is a good and affordable fretless six string besides Ibanez?
