No, they are both basses with the SRC being tuned E-E in the same octave as a normal 4 string bass. You are wrong again.

From this page (the first one goolag brings up): "The SR Crossover is tuned like a guitar, E to E, only an octave lower, like a bass."

Finally got my picture up, sorry had to finally give up my flip phone on Sunday. I am in "withdrawl" at the moment. Just wanted to let you guyses (wait is that even a word) fault for getting me started down this road. My Gibson Victory collection has been put in " hiatus " mode for the moment, and everyone will be getting a letter from my bank shortly. I submit this photo of my Peavey TL-6 as my application! This bass instantly became my number one. Loving having a 6, and being in a 3 piece band gives me lots of room in the mix to really explore the new possibilities a 6 string offers.

Noticed you're in Daytona - was there yesterday with the fam. It was a nasty, rainy day but traffic didn't exist and there weren't many people out, so for what we did it was fine.

I owned a TL-5 once but the bridge was mounted too far aft - most I see have the G string saddle moved all the way forward for intonation. I could never get mine right, so I sold it. I didn't want to mess up the top by mounting a new bridge.

Not so with my purple Douglas sixer, it's getting a new bridge put on very soon. It now sports a 3-band preamp and Gotoh 706 tuners; new strings will accompany the bridge.

Here's my Ibanez BTB846SC that I scored for a great price. It had not been maintained by whoever owned it previously - no tension on the truss road, high frets from 13 up - but a good step and fret leveling later, I got an awesome bass that alternates being my number 1 alongside my Jack Casady. I originally named it "Great Blue Whale" due to its shape but have rechristened it "Bertha". By the way, no one gives you grief for having a 6 string if you show up with one for a jam/Dead style band. I have to get a better picture that shows off its color.View attachment 3559940
