The Classic Series Jazz is one of the nicest Jazzes I've ever played, and I am currently gassing hard for that sunburst model. The nick is a little thicker, and I love that!

Is it weird that the binding goes up and covers the end of the frets? My '73 shows the ends of the frets? Does it have something to do with how they put the binding on?
I will never understand why people call these "Classic Series" basses reisues ? They are not reisues, but more like recreations.

That being said,I played a Classic70's Jazz Bass yesterday at Guitar Center in Hollywood,it played and sounded very good. I almost bought the bass, but think I will hold off on it.
I'd just like to add I have a USA Jazz 75 RI which is black with white pickguard. Does anyone else know of this rare variation of this bass. It was made in 2001/02 according to the serial number on the headstock
