And don't forget to include one tiny little tweeter.................with an on/off switch of course...........

No, he's shaking his head at the very thought of this ill conceived notion.I'm voting for a vertical cab made up of 8 fifteens. (Bill Fitzmaurice is nodding sagely with this suggestion.)

Make sure to use the 3015 LFs that way it will be like having 16 15s.
Moved to Amps.
Beyond the impracticality of moving an 815, can you explain why, from a technical perspective, why this is a bad idea? No, he's shaking his head at the very thought of this ill conceived notion.
Catch 22: "I want to build an 8x15. I don't know how speakers work. How do I learn?"
"Once you learn how speakers work you'll know why you don't want to build an 8x15."
I don't think the impracticality of moving an 815 can be overlooked!Beyond the impracticality of moving an 815, can you explain why, from a technical perspective, why this is a bad idea?
hover said:A smart man would build it like a 4 sided / faced cab, with each face getting two speakers, vertically, and have it resemble the Tardis.
And with this configuration, it could be a front main, a side fill, another side fill, and a backstage fill. And, when pushed to eleven, it would rip open a hole in space-time, and bring back dead Presidents and Bill and Ted.
For one thing the correct vertical form factor would make the cab at least ten feet high, which would present both set-up and transportation problems. But the main thing is that there's no reason to have that much output capacity. Once upon a time maybe, when 50 watt 1mm xmax drivers were the norm and good PA wasn't, but not today.Beyond the impracticality of moving an 815, can you explain why, from a technical perspective, why this is a bad idea?
Once you build it let us know so we can recommend a great 2x10 cab to pair it with.
You can put each 15 in its' own cabinet. This makes it easy to move and you can always add more speakers.
I'd like one cab with an 5" a 10" and a 15"
