916 Pickups Club

Nice. One Thunderbird pickup that no one's yet made a replica of that people in the Thunderbird group seem to want is the sidewinder Bicentennial ones (1976-1979).
Because no one wants or is willing to send in one for examination. Haven't seen one for sale , but also do not continuously scan for these pickups. Would re-create if a pickup became available

I'm pretty sure I can recreate one if needed , it looks like it's a standard A5 magnet between two coils on their side with steel bars in the coil. The patent basically gives up the design.

Here is a shot of one Old Boy bridge pickup coil for 6 string guitar. This is our version of Tony Iommis pickup from 1977 onwards. We fit the design into standard Gibson size available in 50mm and 50mm/53mm for Trems and 53mm hardtail Bridges. The 24k bridge is a very tight squeeze and takes very careful wiring as there is no room to be had in the middle of the coils. This design is available in 6 , 7 , 8 string guitar and in various options from black , white , zebra bobbins , blade and nickel silver covers

Alnico 5 Heavy 70s are in progress. A5 Rods for this design are on the way. These will be wound in #42 Plan Enamel to 10k

Bottom picture is the updated version of our Neodymium P bass pickups. These are wound in #42 Poly wire to 10k or our high resistance version in 17k

Both designs are available in exposed or black box. The Neos are available with Nickel or Gold poles

Yes , but the covers are not in stock and would have to order. Looking at around 3 weeks to ship out

Sweet. I like my EMG P5 pickups, but the G string is a bit thin, and I think it’s because it’s just on the edge of the blade. I don’t know why they didn’t offset it….

Located and purchased a order of factory EB0 pickup covers. They should be here is 3-4 weeks. These covers will be for our Neo EB0 , Alnico versions available along with magnet mix options like Alnico 5 / Neodymium. Ceramic for SF tones , 4 connection wiring for coil splitting.

Did not know gold exist?. I was lucky to get the chrome covers. It took quite a few emails and some being very nice and professional to get the sales manager to part with any. I had to buy 200pcs minimum.
Looks like there are cheap gold Artec mudbuckers on the ‘bay.

Toaster files are ready for prototype. Cut outs for testing fit look good. If a pickup surround is needed these can be cut from hardwood or PTFE plastic. Injection molded factory type will not be possible due to cost
