Don't shoot me, but I've always thought that the **-02/94 body shape looked very awkward...but only sometimes. It seems that with certain finishes and certain shot angles and certain exposures, it can be very beautiful in my eyes, but at other times it looks big and clunky and awkward. I do think that a pickguard sort of pulls it together, though. I have lately been warming up to the shape (especially after seeing Ben Kenney with his custom 44-93(?) from about ten feet away at the incubus concert last tuesday:D ). On the other hand, I would love to own a Joe Osborn model 4 stringer sometime and maybe even a 44-94 or something. To me looks aren't all that important, but the other thing I'm hesitant about is the active preamp--I'm a passive sort of guy. One of the 44/93s with JJ pickups and passive controls would be awesome, but they don't seem to be all that popular. I guess Lakland can make them for you though, right?
Anyway...let's see more pics!

Actually I'm pretty sure that the top horn and top half belong to a P bass and the lower half to a Stingray. I could be wrong, but I remember that it was something simple like that. I'm liking the shape more and more every day, but who cares? If they sound good, I'll buy one.

That would be the 44-63 and
Yes they can,Lakland just put one together for me just a few days ago but it's active/passive with the Lakland preamp and it's fretless.

really? I just ordered a 44-02 in 3t and it's only 3 weeks. seems odd to me.....

Seems to me that you're a lucky guy. I've been given an estimate of 4 months from the order date from the *one* dealer here in Montréal, and four to five from the *one* dealer in the closest Ontario town, which is Ottawa.

As I said, you're a lucky guy :spit:

Hey, maybe I'll be lucky too, once I've ordered it... Not gonna hold my breath or anything, but it'd be nice :hmm:.

The 44-02 3tsb I ordered will be ready in 1 month but the black 55-02 in black will take longer and they're both being shipped together to save on costs. I did think abbout having matching ones but that's just cheesy.

I may wanna replace the stock Bart soap bars, and electronics in my Lakland 44-01....maybe with Nordies.....which Nordstrands exactly would i need? any other suggestions for replacements? please be specific.
i want something that isn't too bassy or muddy, maybe a nice high mid sounding pup.
