A Little Game With Dirt

So I was recabling my board and decided to play a little game. I have three dirt pedals on my board, FeaLabs Photon Fuzz, Earthquaker Devices Monarch and a Source Audio Soundblox2 Multiwave Bass Distortion. I played the same line and using individual pedals and combinations of the three. I also increased the distortion on one of the pedals for different clips. I wrote down which pedals I used for each one. I'm curious to know what version everybody prefers and then if anybody wants to make a guess of which pedal or pedals were used in each clip. The first sound you hear is my clean Lakland JO4 with the neck pickup solo'd and its all dirt after that. This is all recorded into my iPad. I bumped some of the setting on the iPad during the last few versions so I think there is a little clipping in there.



And for fun I took the line and turned it into a little longer of a clip:

Oh and if you like the clean that's cool, but I only put up 9 choices for each of the 9 dirt takes.

I think the most interesting is #5. Curious to find out which one that is. (Multiwave perhaps?) I have the pedal so you think I would know...

^ I agree, the mids seemed to stand out in a good way and the high end treble was more subdued. awesome tone IMO!

BTW, I really like these guessing games

I liked 3, 4 and 6 the most but I couldn't tell you what pedals they were recorded with.

I also find 8 pretty cool too.

Personally I feel that option 3 seems to have the most character and low end, so yea, that one. Some of the others are WAY to thin sounding.

Yeah, some were thin and almost muffled sounding. I went with 3, 4, 5 & 6. I'm pretty easy to please with dirt. As long as it's not muffled, I'm game.
