A Little Roscoe Fun

I remember that LG3000. :ninja: I liked it back when it was new and I was considering a 4 string. I was thinking of ordering a "Roscoe jazz" bass. Alder body, pau ferro board, AGV electronics, etc. but this would be a much more fun 4 string to have. :help:

You won't get any help from me! Other than me putting it in a box and sending it to you. :D:D:D

My wife thinks I need to give a P a try for a year. I always say how I like how this guy or that guys P bass sound but I never seem to have much luck getting a tone I like from one myself.

Lots of nice Roscoes for sale right now. This, Jeff, Hot Topic, all nice basses.

PJ's for everybody! :)

LOL - You might think I'm joking, but I almost ordered 4 more PJ's from Roscoe today... I still probably will, once I sell another bass or two and get some bills paid. That cherryburst 4-string PJ left the building yesterday, so I am now Roscoe PJ-less. :(

i'd like to see a Roscoe with a bartolini P/J setup like the pedulla raptures/mvp/buzz basses. i remember playing a rapture P/J-5 once and really liking it. i've always been fond of P/Js and a CS5 with that setup would be killer for me.

+1 I owned a couple Pedulla MVP's inm my per-Roscoe days with that configuration and they did sound good.

I played the Roscoe P/J 4 string at the GTG but unfortuantely not plugged in. Of course now that I think about it, I played a few bass plugged in at the GTG that I still never heard! Slap:bassist:pop:bassist:slap:bassist:pop:D

I'm giving a lefty Roscoe a try! It seems like the kind of thing that I should always have one or two in stock... time will tell if that's a good call. Tell your lefty friends! :)

Isn't this top lovely? I love the look of Cocobolo, I need to order more of that...

is the oil finish on Roscoes like the oil finish on Warwicks and need to be waxed in order to keep the wood from drying out?

Nope, it's a chemically cured something or other than does not require waxing.

That said, I wax mine regularly just 'cause it makes it glow. I got in the habit with an old Warwick I had, and I still enjoy doing it...
