Hey guys I kinda like the muddy/dark Thunderbird sound when playing with a pick but hate the guitar's ergonomics. Is there another option that comes with two mud-buckers and better ergonomics? The Epiphone Embassy looks like it's gonna have less neck dive than the Thunderbird due to the longer upper-horn. Please lmk more, thanks!

That Embassy will get you there sonically in a more normal body style for sure.
Just as a side note, Thunderbird pickups aren’t actually mud buckers. Those are the big neck pickups in an EB-0, EB-3, etc.

Oddly, my two T Birds are anything but muddy. And as mentioned, don't have mudbuckers in them. But ergonomically, that Epi will indeed be the anti-Bird!
I've only played the Epiphone Tbirds and they were muddy sounding, also played a Gibson Q-80 it sounded muddy as well

There are at least four different Epiphone Thunderbirds out there, they don't share pickups or any components at all - which might you be talking about?
The pickups on the Embassy you've pictured are most definitely not muddy, quite the contrary, they are bright.

My Q-80 is the least muddy-sounding Gibson I have ever heard.
Ironically, my Thunder Series Bass V is a bit muddy, and a lot closer to a T-bird electronically.

You want mud? Get yourself an old Gibson EB3 rotary set to #1. That had more mud than a pacific landslide!! LOL!!!
Seriously, I not sure if the current EPI EBOs have the same circuitry, but might be a place to start. Th4 EB3 I had in the 70’s were very playable.
Read… Better balance for one. I never had a problem with neck dive, or an obtrusive top bout on an EB3 as opposed to a Firebird, as described by the OP. And you will have to trust me about playability. IMO

That’s what I was thinking! All the Thunderbirds I have played sound anything but muddy!
Time for a 7 page discussion on mud, describing mud, claiming that others are wrong about mud, slinging mud, muddy buddies, yelling, tears, suspensions, and eventually, the mods closing this thread.

Mine doesn't even neck dive! It's the most comfortable bass I've ever played.
For a darker, more stereotypically 'Gibson' sound, the reissue SG bass works great (not 100% old EB-3 sound, but definitely 'there'). Mine neck dives, unfortunately.
