A Very Disappointed Customer

After seeing fantastic reviews of mono cases over here on talkbass and their fantastic website stating how good their product is. So my story with mono began.

Once upon a time there was a very excited customer who had just bought a brand new mono case:)

Spot anything amiss? One month into use and cracks started appearing on the rubber outer lining. Hmmm surprised at this but still, might have came with normal usage due to the stresses experienced during use. Brushed it off as I'm perfectly fine with normal wear and tear.

A few weeks more...the horror began. The rubber started peeling! This is very disappointing coming from a top brand such as mono. Barely 3 months into use and this happened. I've got gig bags that cost 20usd and last for years. The only reason I look to mono is because of the protection it offers. It does the job of protecting the bass very well and I have to give them credit for that. But for the amount of money paid, I think the quality of the goods should be much higher.

This is not a post to flame mono. But rather a post to inform future customers of what happens in the event that you receive a defective mono case. I'll email and explain to mono what happened and update you guys over here when they reply.

LOL! True, but I would start with explain, move to complain if need be. Resort to rage if getting nowhere.

I totally raged on the gas company once because they said I owed them 600 some-odd dollars when in fact, it was their mistake. They admitted fault and apologized...but not before I gave them an earfull!!!

I would call them, I would think it was the exception, not the rule. I have three heavily gigged Mono bags that go through the hot sun and none have come apart like that.

I have 2 Mono bags. One is 3 years old and the other is a year and a half old. Both are used exclusively for carrying my basses around. Neither has the problem (or any others) your experiencing. like some have said... call Mono!

Good companies occasionally have production problems with substandard materials and such. I had a $120 pair of New Balance running shoes that the soles cracked prematurely. I sent them to New Balance and they sent me replacements that didn't have the problem.

At least give the vendor a chance to make it right. Worst that happens is they do nothing.

Thanks for all the replies. Seems like they have excellent customer service. However I'm not from the states and I bought the case from one of their local dealers. I currently emailed them already. Awaiting for their reply. Unsure how this thing is going to play out though.
