I'm excited about the new USA Acoustic 360 and hope to have the opportunity to play thru one once again.

I owned a 371 in the 70's. Loved that amp. Played hundreds of gigs with it. Typically got rid of the 301 cab and used 2-15's after about three years. Then as we all have done in the past, sold it for something new. Dumbass!

Anyway, I've been following the developments on this amp for a while now. At this point, I really wonder if this thing will ever become a reality. I know there are pictures of two of them from someones gig but that rig could be anything, or nothing. Point is, I don't know. If they do exist, then can someone post pictures from something like five feet away and not 50 feet please?

On the for sale threads, they say" no picture=no whatever you're trying to sell". So until I can see this, it's not real.

Also, $7500? If that indeed is the price, I wish the company luck trying to sell in this economy.

Guess I'll just sit and wait just like I'm waiting for my Dr. Bass cabinet to ship...

As an original 360 361 owner, I've been watching and waiting for the release of the new usa models. I paid $1299 for mine in 71. The $7500 is a comparison of 1971 dollar to todays dollar. Nothing was said about that being the price of new amp. If GC has to sign off on the new amps before they hit the market I wish Vetch good luck. I'm wondering what would be their motivation to do so? I loved the size comment. I think SVT owners might disagree. In the current economy its probably a good idea to wait until it turns around before bringing it to the market.

If they ever ship, I hope that GC does and exclusive to sell them. Regardless of how people feel about GC/MusiciansFriend/Music123 (and their other Web names) they are an excellent distribution channel. And a good way to hear gear - even check gear out in the real world for a month.

I do like their stores and service and don't mind paying tax or supporting to local economy when I can. The folks that work there are just musicians like me.

It takes time to get things right.

Product testing, and all that stuff of the sort.

Think of all the other new amps that fail right out of the box due to manufacturers flaws, not faulty components....

Thats all i've got to add here.

Is Vetchking really the acoustic usa president (or any of their staff)?

His correspondence here doesn't sound very professional or friendly if I may say so. It would put me off any of their stuff.

Yes, he is....

I am in no way affiliated with Acoustic USA but I have had several conversations with George over the last couple of years.

Pardon me for asking, but exactly how "professional" should the man be?? What I mean is that he is (for the most part) working alone, trying to bring this company to fruition. It is taking a ridiculous amount of both time and money to get the thing going....will it be a success?? Hell, I don't have a clue! But the guy has more balls than I, to even attempt something like this in this economic climate borders nearly on insanity.

I personally wish him the best. I honestly do. But most of us have been waiting years now. I fear that if it doesn't happen soon, it will never happen. But trust me when I say this: I sincerely hope that I am wrong.

I will explain. Ps. Tb may kill this. I can't speak freely. But, If you ask, I think the rules allow me.

Samick Music bought the name from the Mexicans. That's where "acoustic" died.

Samick was bringing it back. They closed it down a few years after.

I walked in and got the rights to Bring back Made in America Bass amps.

Had the Name alone for a year. Cool.

Got Harvey Gerst and Russ Allee on my team. They along with Steve Marks WERE the ACC company. Russ is:

"The Godfather of Electric Bass Amplification"

Over the top Cool......... I almost fell over when he agreed to design the new stuff.

Post #1 is pretty close. Mark Jamieson and myself have died for 6 or 7 years to make this happen.

GC buys the name.

Samick has 26 plants around the world and has one factory that makes 50,000 Guitars a month. In Indonesia theres one that makes 50,000 acoustic guitars a month plus can make 50,000 Electric guitars a month.

Stop and think about that one?????????????? WOW Plus.

They make 65% of all guitars sold.

Samick also has a division that makes 80% of all keyboards sold, including upright pianos, etc.

WOW.

Anyhow, GC, is a multi Billion dollar company. It stands to reason that the worlds largest retailer knows the worlds largest musical instrument manufacture.

GC buys the name. When they bought the name, My Contract went with the sale. Interesting? huh? LOL

Anyhow, GC's amps are designed in the USA and Made in CHINA.

My amps are made in the USA, Yes, guys some electronics parts are made off shore. Hey, Our plants are Gone Gone Gone.

Between GC and The GPG "acoustic USA". There is definately something for everyone.

$150.00 To $5,000.00 and up. Starter amps, student amps, and pro gear.

Alright thanks for clearing that up. I didn't think it'd make sense for two completely independent companies to bear the same name, logo, colors, etc.

And just so you know, I am the opposite of a skeptic and it hadn't crossed my mind that this might be an ad campaign (my first post on this topic (#2) asked to introduce us to the amp).

I'm a big fan of GK stuff, but I love any amp that has a voice of its own. If I have the funds when the stuff hits the market, I hope to be one of the first to snag one. I wasn't alive when the original Acoustic 361 stack was around, but many of my favorite players played one and I'd like to own something that produced those sounds. So sir, at the very least, you've got me sold.
