Acoustic USA 360 / 361

hey, they'll be out when they're out. not exactly the easiest thing in the world to start an amp building buisness. if you judged every company by the amount of time it takes them to enter the market from inception, half the companies out now wouldn't be here. their business plan isn't my problem. i like a good internet pile-on as much as the next guy, but make it a fair one. in the meantime, i don't think there's any sort of amp shortage going on ;)

Yes, he is....

I am in no way affiliated with Acoustic USA but I have had several conversations with George over the last couple of years.

Pardon me for asking, but exactly how "professional" should the man be?? What I mean is that he is (for the most part) working alone, trying to bring this company to fruition. It is taking a ridiculous amount of both time and money to get the thing going....will it be a success?? Hell, I don't have a clue! But the guy has more balls than I, to even attempt something like this in this economic climate borders nearly on insanity.

I personally wish him the best. I honestly do. But most of us have been waiting years now. I fear that if it doesn't happen soon, it will never happen. But trust me when I say this: I sincerely hope that I am wrong.

I'm not trying to start anything and if you guys are all ok with his "style" then fine, I might be an outlier.

By "professional" I mean the double-spaced, weird haiku style telegraphic cryptic messages with somewhat aggressive jabs at potential customers.

I can understand bringing a product to market isn't easy and really do wish him and future customers the best but I just wanted to comment on the "communication-style" he uses and the negative effect it had on my perception of his endeavor.

Like I said, maybe I'm the only one feeling like this but if not, since his company's success hinges on good customer perception, he would be well to clean up the correspondence or hire someone to take care of that end.

+1 here, but if the amp delivers people will buy it anyway. And I expect this amp will deliver.

Just try to think of him as that eccentric scientist trying to cook up something awesome.

+1! you're definitely not the only one.
and i don't have any problems with eccentric scientists, but he doesn't come off that way at all to me. i see it more like harsh and condescending.

Burlington........... I believe Post #32 does have a picture of the amps.........

The 360 pre-amp is sitting on the new 361M which is a folded 15. Neo.

That pic is hardly from a reliable source. They could well be old Acoustic amps, or reconditioned ones or whatever. Besides if you are within spitting distance of these amps can you not photograph them yourself?

This is all a bit dodgy.

And if he did how many here are going to just say "Nice collection of "old" Acoustics." A pic will prove nothing, just give something else to doubt around here. Sorry seen it here many times. ;)

.

I have had 'conversations' with Acoustic in e-mails and even once phoned them and got put on terminal 'Go-To-Hell" hold and then they denied that they even have a phone number I can call anyway -----

I got the royal shuffle and iggy and it's just not nice to treat someone who has bought almost every cab/combo that works with the B-450.

They congratulated me for my purchases but it felt like a slimy wet handshake that told me to get lost now that I've bought all this stuff - but 'write soon and often' was generally the official face value of their 'correspondence'.

I made field repairs since I knew I could, was qualified and they would only say to 'send it in and we'll take a look at it' - yeah sure! I diagnosed and repaired it, offering my experiences and I got the shaft for my input.

BAH! I hate to get the crazy-aunt-you-hide-in-the-attic-when-company-comes-over treatment.

I can imagine there's some sort of running in circles in a fledgling company that's trying to get it's wings spread - especially during this rotten economy - but to treat a customer like that isn't forgivable.

Hopefully the quality of their amps and cabs will overshadow their non-contrite, pompous attitude; maybe it won't and they'll die again as a company.

His correspondence here doesn't sound very professional or friendly if I may say so. It would put me off any of their stuff.

I was thinking the same thing. Contrast that with the guys from Genz Benz that post here. Their posts, plus the comments about GB customer service that have been posted here by TB members, were the reason I started shopping for a GB amp when I didn't really even need one.

Maybe pics of them in the production stage? A nice prototype or something?

More pics won't do it.
They've been offered up before. Photoshop and all.

They need to ship something. OK so the amps aren't ready, so at least ship some cabinets.

These threads every few months for years is getting old. The threads always seems to be somebody who tried them out first hand. Where? Why can't others? Invite some real people over to try them out.

All those that want to be accused of just being a shill speakup! :D
