active > passive

Sometimes I like the simplicity of just having 2 knobs. Just turn those two to get a nice sound and go go go!
No matter how many knobs I have on my bass, I never want to touch them. If it's volume or tone, it's max. If it's a cut/boost, it's neutral. The end. Even my active basses might as well be passive.

i do not understand why to go for a passive bass today if you can have active and bypass to passive if that is better at the time. not so much more expensive and gives you something back. it seems the correct thing to do for a bass today. why passive??

No such thing as the correct thing to do IMO.

Had only one over the years and didn't keep it too long. If you like active go for it, but not for me.

I'd rather keep additional circuitry (if any) on the pedal board and run it with a power block than deal with on-board batteries and their associated problems. Just my personal preference: others are free to do as they see fit.
