I got all I hoped for from this thread.

Spector introduced their "Bantam" bass. It's short scale and active. I have an email direct from Sire that they will be announcing a short scale V7 this summer (2019). However, Sire seems to be slow delivering, hopefully because their basses are selling so well! I really like my V9.I know there are Alembics, but outside of them...
Do they exist?
I haven't had GAS since my birthday, and that was waaaaay back in February.

The short scale V7 and V10 will be added later, we will have a formal announcement soon.
Hope this answers your question.

Looks like you've settled on the Warwick, but these look pretty cool.
Vox Announces Starstream Active Basses
I don't guess there's any fear of you starting to hoard Kubicki ExFactors then? Thanks for trying, but headless and $2000 basses dont cause me any gas.
Probably not what you had in mindI know there are Alembics, but outside of them...

!! If Sire doesn't get their act together Vox could beat them to the market. I've been looking for an active short scale for years.I missed that post before... I don't know how...Looks like you've settled on the Warwick, but these look pretty cool.

Just saw the price. I'm good.I missed that post before... I don't know how...
I feel like that sober alcoholic hanging out in bars ever night... this has got to stop.
Phew.... if it were in the $500 or under range, I would have been in trouble. Not a chance I'd pay that much for that bass. Didn't notice the funky cutaways either. Not a fan anymore.
Ibanez EHB1000SBumping this, looking for trouble....
Need some GAS.
Need an active short scale.
Must be versatile.
Must be light.
Anything with variable mids that fits the above and comes in at under $1500 would probably have me sunk.
Yeah... that's actually a great one, and almost pushed me over the edge a few times in the last year. 2 things stopping me though:Ibanez EHB1000S
Yeah... that's actually a great one, and almost pushed me over the edge a few times in the last year. 2 things stopping me though:
1. It seems EVERYBODY complains about the input jack being a real hassle, and I don't want to have to deal with that in between sets at every gig. If it weren't active I wouldn't care, but I unplug my active basses between sets. I know I can swap it out, but its difficult for me to find time to do those things.
2. It wouldn't work with the guitar stands my band uses, and while I know this shouldn't be a deal breaker (I can just buy another stand), I don't want to give my band yet another thing (however minor) to be concerned about. We have roadies and they just put out all the guitar stands.
If something else doesn't show up and I sell a few basses I may wind up going for the Ibanez though. It looks super sweet. Chowney basses have been talking to me too, but there's a bit of a wait for those - and they don't have a mid control.
Thanks for the suggestion.
