Again, Fender being overrated BS

No doubt - I did an outdoor gig under a huge tent one time, when high winds caused one side of the tent to come loose... Unfortunately, it was the side by a rack of guitars and basses - and knocked them all over... when the damage was accounted for, one Les Paul had the headstock broken off, and another was cracked - one tuner on one Fender had a bent elephant ear - which I was able to straighten without much difficulty... Also, my Fender basses have chipped a tooth, split a lip, and broken a finger of various singers that got careless on stage - no harm to the basses, though...

I know one of the thought processes behind the advent of bolt on necks was for replaceability - but I've never had to replace a neck...

I haven't gone through any necks either. But when we're booked for a 'parole celebration party' or I get invited to a 'south side basement jam' I want something that doubles as a club.

I think this thread was about how Ibanez basses are so bad. I don't know if they are good or bad, because I never tried one.

I own three Fender basses, and they are all real nice. The MIM is not near as good as the Am Dlx basses, but they all look good, sound good, and play good.

The only Ibanez instrument I ever owned was a Strat copy that I bought at a yard sale for ten bucks. It is not too bad. I gave it to my grand daughter, and she really likes it.

Well hey!...we are good at it! We should be......we've had plenty of experience over the millenia. In fact, we humans seem to be better at that than just about anything else!

See, I would give a damn, but they all ran away with my talent, I also think if I still had all my damns they'd fit in the lower neck gap of a Fender maple bass.

People rant about this because they are disappointed! This is where reality meets expectations.
I picked up a new US Jazz bass a few months ago and I thought they have really improved since the last time I bought a new US model which was in the 80's and I bought a half dozen of them. They were about 600/700 bucks then.
However if you pick up a Squier and then a US model it's hard to see a whole lot of difference for that much money.
One thing I learned in my old age is life is perception, it you think Fender is the king then nothing else matters.
Me, i don't care what 's on the headstock but it has to 1. Have my sound 2. not weigh as much as a Mac truck, with looks being last because no matter what it looks like if it does not sound right I won't touch it and it will become a case queen

that is the perfect way to describe fender in my book.
OP if you realy want a quality bass with that lame cookie cutter shape check out a spector coda, you won't have to play a bunch of them to find a "good" one and you get a lifetime warenty.

I've got 2 Pedullas and several other basses and I'd take a maple necked American Deluxe Jazz 5 in a heartbeat. Don't care for the rosewood models at all. I have played a bad maple one yet even though some are better than others. Playability and growl!
