I love mine, also. Mine are 7 years old with moderate abuse. Side note: It is interesting how the 770s seem to be a favorite for bass players.

Its the ONLY choice. I spent well over $1,000 on cans over the years, the only question is which model; the 250 ohm, the 80 ohm, or the 32 ohm. I choose the 80 ohm. Other phones rarely last two years, the 770 Pros are good for a decade.

The 250 ohm unit is said to be "better" (less in-cup resonance) but that 250 ohms are a bit tough to drive. I have the 80 ohm unit, also. I might pickup a 32 ohm unit on BF, if Beyer has a good sale going.

My Sony 7506s are from the 80s. Those things are tanks, also. Very different monitoring FR response than the 770s.

Back OT and to the thread reader/writers, how is the AG Pre doing for people? There were random claims of "no bass". I would assume that is all up to how the unit is EQ'd?

I am vacillating. Not because i dont want the pedal, i am going to be patient and hope somebody out there decides they dont like the thing for whatever reason, and want to flip it…

The clips of the AG sound good. I like the samples with both deep and bright switches on. But I never use my THDI without the AGS engaged. The subtle drive is something I would miss, or have to replace with another pedal.

I've had the AG Preamp for about a week, did a gig with it last night going direct into the PA and inears for foldback. I really like the pedal.

My preference for tone is that clean and sizzling Marcus Miller sound. The AG pedal gets me in that ballpark very easily. The way I use it is by keeping bright and deep switch on, adjust EQs to taste.

I understand some people's concern with a toggle bright/deep switch and no mute button. I always keep both bright/deep engaged and for muting I have the HX stomp on my board to cover that so it doesn't effect me.

I also own the AG700 so I could do an A/B video if I ever get the time. The pedal is a keeper for me!

What I think is a significant oversight/shortcoming is the lack of an unaffected parallel output or 'thru' option. This is crucial for MANY setup scenarios

I almost find it arrogant when amp companies do this….Its a major oversight when you want to send an unaffected line to your backline.

Hi, I just got my AG Preamp. I'm wondering if it is defective..When it's bypassed ("Engage" button off) I can still hear the changes I make in the EQ section. Does your unit act the same? I was thinking when disengaged I should only hear the dry sound of the bass. And the difference in sound when engaged is marginal. Besides that I like the sound.. Info on how your AG behaves when disengaged would be appreciated.

Hi there, my unit does not change the sound once disengaged. It is the dry sound. Sounds like there's an issue somewhere. That sucks!

I will keep my Tonehammer pedal. It’s more versatile than the AG pedal I think.

I have. Its mono. A stereo jack only plays the right channel.

I tried and that surprised me with its quality, terrible! I couldn't believe that they left it this way from the design. The preamp were perfect and I almost bought it until this point as I need it for my practice too
