Aguilar TH 350 Discontinued?

Yep, I said so a few weeks ago and no one seemed to care. I spoke to Aguilar and they confirmed that it is discontinued. I have one and love the thing. I'll be holding on to it.
There is some stock left at M.F..

Oh, thanks for the info. I was considering selling mine. Not a so happy about the fan noise when idling in my quiet living room. Now I’m searching for a small good sounding practice combo so I can keep the TH 350. Quality stuff. Love the sound!

It’s only 350 watts which by TB regulations is not loud enough to be used for anything but playing in your closet.

Lol!

I keep a TH 350 in my gig bag as a back up to my Superbassman. I've only "needed" it once but it was a life saver when I did....and it pumped way more than enough power into my Fender Pro Neo 610.

If you need more power than what a TH 350 can deliver, your stage volume is probably out of control!

It's only 50 watts more than an SVT, and we all know that SVT's have a reputation for being woefully under powered.

It's a numbers perception issue - once, on a business trip (20 years ago), a colleague of mine ordered a $350 bottle of wine (and then a second one a while later) - she had no idea that the bottle was that expensive - the price was in foreign currency, and as there was a wine which cost twice as much as that, she had no reference for what was expensive, and thought it was "reasonably priced wine".

Nowadays, kids look at catalogs, and they see the "2000 watt" Bugera on the "menu". Having seen that, a 350 watt head seems like it must be underpowered, even though the vast majority of us will never even need 350 watts (and if we do, it's an insane volume war we shouldn't be in in the first place). The fact that it's possible to make an amp with twice that power for not much more money has inflated expectations numbers wise, and uncoupled the amount of power you actually need from the buying experience. As such, an amp like this, which is probably a great amp, gets overlooked. So, they make a batch, some guys that know that that is plenty of power buy them, but the masses who don't understand....don't. In the end, the masses "win", the product gets discontinued, and the manufacturers start working on amps with even more power, despite the fact that it's silly.

Note that you are playing through a 6×10 which is more drivers than most people these days. Dependent also on how you eq things. If you favor mids over lows you can get more volume from a smaller amp.

Our current drummer isn't that loud and my gk mb 200 would not keep up. I need my d800+ or ag700 to do that.

It's not silly. The thing with the SVT is that most people traditionally paired them large cabs. I had a tone hammer 500 and it clipped like a blinking Christmas light all gig long. Of course if I neutered the low end it did better. But I was playing through db 2x12. If I'd had a larger cab I would have been better off.

Was it audibly clipping or was it just the light?
