"Return of the Frog Queen" - Jeremy Enigk .....genius
"Two Nuns and a Pack Mule" - Rapeman ...Albini at his best.
"Head for the Shallows" - Big Business ...Don't like it? You suck.
"Sto Cazzo!" - Sweep the Leg Johnny... Buy an album, fool.
"Wrong" - Nomeansno ....Rob Wright, best punk bassist ever.
"Ozma" - the Melvins ....Which bass player was it?

Musically, these come to mind:
Yes - Relayer - I can always come back to it
Steely Dan - Aja - Becker and Fagan in their finest hour
Cry Of Love - Brother - holds the record for continuous "storage" in player
King Crimson - Discipline - still amazes me
Pink Floyd - Dark Side - what can you say? have worn out 3 copies
Peter Gabriel - Security - still blows my mind like it did when I first heard it
Gov't Mule - Mr. High and Mighty - Warren Haynes is a hell of a writer

Sonically memorable:
Peter Gabriel - Security - you better have tough speakers and big amp with tons of headroom!
The last 3 or 4 releases from Lyle Lovett are amazing sounding

How does one even come up with a list?! Every record that I love is perfect for me and it's gonna be hard to list them all. Here are a few (and why):

Faith No More: Angel Dust. Patton stopped the one-trick (that nasal whine) and showed his diversity, the interplay of musicians was perfect, and the album is just damn strange for a popular metal-ish record.

Meshuggah: Catch 33. There are very few albums that I would consider to be masterpieces of modern music. This studio effort is one IMO as it astounds me from beginning to end (okokokok, minus the cheesy talk-box vocal part in the middle). Creepy, dissonant grooves are laced all throughout.

Mark Lanegan: Whiskey for the Holy Ghost. Words fail me, but the title says it all. Music for haunted alcoholics! (I kid...sort of.) But seriously, this album has a feeling to it that somehow reaches off of the plastic/metal it's encrypted into.

Voivod: Dimension Hatross. Some of the most inventive metal riffs and songs to ever reach an audient's ears. Album flow is perfect.

Yes: Close to the Edge. Much like "Catch 33," I could listen to the title track everyday and not get sick of it, as I think it is also a masterpiece.

The Minutemen: The Punch Line. Get it. Now.

Last but not least:
NoMeansNo: The Dance of the Headless Bourgeoisie. Every song is a genuine artifact of why NoMeansNo is better than all other bands and they don't even know it (nudge). That's the best part. The other things that rawk are the musicianship, songwriting, lyrics (most rock lyrics are ********...not here), and intensity.
