This was the response I got from one guy. I can't even imagine what the guy in your post is getting, if anyone even goes to Craigslist anymore :).

I should add that I was shocked to see the guy who responded is actually doing pretty good for himself these days. He's had some legit musical success, and honestly - I'm happy for him. This might prove entertaining to some Getta Load of this!

I googled him the last time I was reminded of that thread and remember finding that he had actually been kind of successful. I forgot whether some of his music did well, or he landed some good gigs? Too busy to do a search right now, but he did surprisingly well for himself.

Man, after all the demeaning bass player talk he spurned in that response I seriously question his prowess and ability as a drummer/musician...even if the guy can put down a solid beat he’s shockingly close minded and short sided.

There is not a chance in hell you get out of there alive. Ring his doorbell, he tells you to come inside while he grabs his things, there's a trap door, now you're in his basement. Scream all you want, you know that basement is soundproofed, he's on CL. Who's the professional now?

I trust it's significant for a jazz artist to have some level of specialized capacity on their instrument. This doesn't mean they have to have executioner slashes and play incredible virtuoso lines. Be that as it may, it just methods there should be some need given to having the option to explore the instrument effortlessly. I never retire any day from my training room

That’s one way to guarantee nobody will call you.

Band I was in a long time ago was auditioning drummers. The best player had way too much baggage and drama, he was out on parole, for what we had no idea, so he had to be driven to his audition, after which he told us he had to be paid up front before gigs, he would need rides to and from rehearsal and shows, and he couldn’t be around drugs or alcohol so no bar gigs. He was a great drummer, probably the best I’ve ever jammed with, but boy we couldn’t get him out of the building fast enough after he laid all that on us. No amount of skill is worth all that.
