When I got married, I wasn’t nervous at all. After the ceremony, we had to sign some documents. That moment made my hand shake while signing. I suppose it hit me, everything was concluded with those signatures. Perhaps it hit Paul in a similar way.

Actually, I believe this was just one of several poignant moments when Paul, and Ringo too, contemplated the group's deterioration. An earlier one being when Ringo walked out of The White Album sessions (we just don't have video of that one).

In fact, Paul brightens up considerably a bit later from that photo after a phone convo with John:

There's this very interesting blow-by-blow commentary on that day here:
Remember, they made a whole other album, Abbey Road, in the "the old style" with George Martin actually and actively producing, later that year. Then, in a formal meeting after that, John announces his intent to leave The Beatles with "I want a divorce"! Even then, I'm sure Paul hoped and prayed they would find a way to continue. But, then Allen Klein got into the act by poisoning all minds against Paul's reluctance to hire him and giving him carte blanche! That broke the historic fab four's "all for one, one for all" policy where any one of them could veto any decision. So, Paul was ostracized from the group and made out to be the villian when he fought back! It took years of legal battles for the other three to learn the truth about Klein.​

There was a meeting before the one where Lennon quit where they discussed their next album. Lennon suggested he, Paul and George should get four songs each and Ringo gets two. Audio of this meeting was discovered a few years ago. The tape was made for Ringo, who did not attend.

So they were actively planning another album after Abbey Road.

Yes, Skoki, that was before Abbey Road was released, but just 12 days before John quit! Yoko and Klein were telling John what a great artist he was and that he didn't need the others. Of course, Paul couldn't know what to believe from John from day to day.

Yes, very interesting, beanie! Of course I know there's no longer a U.S.S.R. But, I didn't realize that there's no longer a B.O.A.C. That led me to realize how difficult it must be for some young people to understand, not only this particular sing, but many (most?) 20th century references! Beatlemania must be a real mystery, if it's even considered at all. :oops:

Y'know, if you slightly rewrite the lyrics to BITUSSR to be Ukraine-friendly, seems like it might get great (surprised!) audience response. Some of the references remain topical too, just today Russia announced it would build a new naval base in the part of Georgia it occupies.
I'll get you started:

"Flew in from Miami beach on ValueJet,
Man, it was a crowded flight"
...
"Back in the Luhansk!
Back in the Donbas!
Back in the Crimea La-a-and!"

[and the tip jar overflowed....]
