All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

Carnaby Street and the Mod lifestyle, as a phenomenon, was pretty much over by late ‘66, when moustaches(and acid)were starting to creeping in. Granny Takes A Trip, on Kings Road in Chelsea, became the hip haberdashery.
This is purely a guess on my part. That is, I have absolutely nothing to back up my guess.
I look at the Beatles upgrading their appearance and filming their recording sessions around ‘66/‘67 as a parallel to the writings of then General, later President, George Washington.
Early in the Revolutionary War, General Washington wrote many memoranda and letters. Very few of them were considered eloquent.
As the tide of war turned, the general changed his writing style significantly. His writing became far more eloquent and structured. Most historians attribute this change in style to the fact that Washington understood that everything he wrote would be closely scrutinized for decades, if not centuries, to come.
Likewise The Beatles realized at some point in time that everything they did, said, or recorded would be closely scrutinized for decades to come. Whether interest in what they accomplished will be studied for centuries remains to be seen.
As is always the case and as my wife frequently reminds me, I could be wrong. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time I came up with a cockamamie conclusion.
The Beatles invited cameras to document their life. The video of John and George that I posted above is a perfect example. They wanted everything documented. Maybe they wanted to profit from it down the road. Maybe it was for copyright reasons.
The Beatles were songwriters who did it for profit. Nothing wrong with that, it was their trade. The Beatles broke up over money. Paul thought that his father in law, who was an entertainment lawyer, could get them a better deal. The others wanted to go with the lawyers that the Stones had. John later admitted that Paul was right.
I've only listened to the first 18 minutes so far, but it was nice to see Klaus Voorman playing some upright bass!

It was April 24, 1978. George was fending questions about his perm. In a moment of madness, he and Clapton both had them done.
Well, it was actually to promote a comedy special. CTV, CBC, ATV, and RAI are Canadian stations. The press conference might have been in Canada

Clapton did it in 1967 to imitate Hendrix’s Afro. I don’t know what George’s deal was, a decade later. Disco look, perhaps? Doug Henning?
