I like the elevator versions (Muzak) of Beatle songs better...

Their music has always been "orchestra-friendly". Even the "A Hard Day's Night" album had four orchestral tracks on it! I remember being shocked when I heard them in the movie. But that guitar part on "Ringo's Theme," while he wandered around London alone, really was inspired movie making!

"This album also included four orchestral instrumental versions of Lennon and McCartney songs arranged by George Martin conducting an orchestra of studio musicians: "I Should Have Known Better", "And I Love Her", "Ringo's Theme" (featuring Vic Flick on lead guitar), and "A Hard Day's Night"."
Of course, there's been several orchestral versions of their music over the decades. And even The Beatles Channel #18 on SiriusXM satellite radio uses Beatles muzak as background to their DJ's spiels!

Kind of makes John's cutting lyric to Paul, "The sound you make is muzak to my ears", actually ironic!

I don't have a photo but I bet someone here could clue me in...... Watching the Get Back marathon and I am a bit confused. The boys are working out Let It Be and Macca is on the piano. Lennon is sitting cross legged on the floor playing what appears to be a six string Fender guitar, however he is playing bass parts, and the instrument is voicing bass notes. What is that instrument? Anyone else catch that?

That is the venerable Fender Bass VI. It is a true 6-string bass, tuned one octave below guitar standard tuning. It is not, as some people surmise, a baritone guitar. John and George both used it from time to time,
