Yes, he has some of his publishing but I don’t believe how much or what percentage he owns has been made public. It could be that he has rights but no control.

Or he may have licensed a chunk of his part to Starbucks

edit: I just heard “Golden Slumbers” in an AirBNB commercial just now. Apparently, the NIH co-pay has gone up considerably and his COLA isn’t worth much either.

Watching playoff football and a TV commercial comes on and the soundtrack is “All Together Now”…… Now I remember years ago Macca staunchly saying that Lennon-McCartney compositions would never be used on TV commercials. All that was a moot point when MJ took ownership of the catalog, but didn’t Macca regain the rights to his music after MJ passed?

I recall reading that The Beatles didn't want their music in ads, also. But, when others' control(led?) the rights, the fabs' wishes weren't always respected. Of course their music was used to sell Beatles products, such as compilation albums, the Beatles Rock Band video game, Anthology products, and such, etc. But several non-Beatles products were also advertised. I know I've heard "Revolution", "In My Life" (for Amazon), "Day Tripper", "All Together Now", "Sgt. Pepper's", ... and I vaguely recall a Harrison sitar song, as well!

Just going through some photos of my Liverpool dream vacation several summers ago. I absolutely love early Beatles history. I may take another trip to Liverpool while I can still walk just to soak this all in again.

Hamburg era Beatle Boots on display at Roag Bests museum.

One of the boys Hamburg era guitars. For the life of me I cannot remember which one. Another display from Roag Bests museum.

Early 60's Liverpool handbills on display at the Casbah. Man, wouldn't you love to hang this on your wall?

And the stage where the boys honed their early licks. The Casbah..... It still just floors me that the greatest act of all time began in this tiny room.

AI Photoshop. Sinatra never appeared on stage with The Beatles. And I don't believe John wore wire rimmed glasses in that 'early' time, around '66, certainly not on stage. Just a dramatic recreation for the story of Frank dissin' The Beatles and them taking it in a gentlemanly fashion while continuing to take over the top music ranking from "ol' Blue Eyes".

John apparently got glasses when at Quarry Bank High School. Wire rimmed glasses like he wore were free from the National Health Service. My mom got a similar pair in the 1920’s, all my relatives wore that style. If you paid, you could get fancier frames.

Just looked it up and found this page.

Sony owned almost all of the Beatles catalog, having bought the rights from the Michael Jackson estate in 2016. But after McCartney sued and the case went to court, this statement was eventually published:

---McCartney’s lawyer, Michael Jacobs, announced, that Sony and McCartney “have resolved this matter by entering into a confidential settlement agreement” at the end of last week and that McCartney’s lawsuit over the catalog had been dismissed.

That statement followed this one:

---Paul McCartney secured the rights to his music in a private settlement that was a big win for the former Beatle, who has been on this journey to secure the rights to his own music for nearly fifty years.

John probably could have afforded fancier frames. His family evidently was slightly higher in wealth than those of the other three.

McCartney remarked in an interview from maybe 20 years ago or so that he and the others were gob-smacked when John was given 100 pounds for his birthday, back before the Beatles were making any money to speak of.

Paul then thought a second, and added: "I wouldn't mind if someone gave me 100 pounds today." He was clearly joking, but there was a hint of genuine wonder at the massive sum, persisting from that birthday 45 or so years earlier.

Although John didn't much like being seen, much less photographed, in glasses in the early days, he also didn't mind the association to Buddy Holly or Peter Sellers, which the wire rims didn't do.

That’s so cool. I had “a moment” when I was in that place. The young fellow that was taking me around was Neil Aspinal’s grandson. He said that Paul painted that multi color ceiling.
