Do you know if it would be possible to just order a custom aluminum neck, I was thinking a 24 fret aluminum neck that would fit as a drop in replacement for the stock neck of my 28,6" scale Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Bass (I would have no issues with having to move the bridge accordingly to accommodate the 24 frets instead of the stock 22)?

EGC just advertised the other day that they can "make anything to fit anything" right now. I'd def contact them for a quote

EGC uses Gotoh IIRC, so another style of Gotoh or Gotoh-like tuners may be compatible but I'm not 100% certain

Thanks a lot!! Unluckily I have no experience with tuners (never made upgrades on my other basses) so I have no idea about sizes, models, etc... Now I make a search about Gotoh, hopefully I can figure out if I can change them for something less "delicate"

I just checked the tuners on my bolt on, they're unbranded but look more like Grover minis than gotoh

as far as i konw, tttides is not doing necks right now but better ask for yourself. if not, check baguley out, they are in europe, germany ... Home | Baguley Guitars

BTW Gotoh doesn't seem to offer any different model that would fit :atoz:

Take one tuner off your bass, measure it, measure the hole, make pics of it, make pics of the back of the headstock and post them here. Would help to help you ;-)

Not sure of the exact weight, I don’t have a scale at hand. I do know that the body is right at 6 pounds. I have a old 81 Gibson Ripper that feels like a boat anchor at a little over 11 pounds. Holding both side by side in each hand the Ripper does feel a tad heavier, but I can’t really tell for sure. There is some neck dive while sitting but the playing position of the P bass kind of helps with that - I feel maybe a Jag-style body or a heavier body wood may help a bit more with this. It doesn’t take away from how well the neck plays and feels and with a strap I personally haven’t had a problem with it. The neck did take a bit to get use to with how skinny it is coming from a more fat traditional Gibson style bass neck experience, especially with my usual thumb position - my other two basses are a Ripper and a First Act custom shop Delia, both with pretty chunky necks.

I’m also debating saving up for a Dunable as well :) Those basses are just so cool!

The hole in the headstock is 14 millimeters diameter. I couldn't completely remove the tuner 'cause I didn't have an Allen key with me to remove that small screw.
I'd like bigger tuners with smaller ratio (like Fenders' ones... Or a bit smaller), I think these ones are the 1:20 type? I need to turn them forever before I put the strings in tension. And they are too loose and I don't think I can tighten them because there is no access to the gear screw :atoz:
Any good replacement that would fit?

I think that Hipshot Ultralites are a direct drop in replacement for these. They come in a variety of finishes & tuning key style (similar to this + standard clover + lollipop.)

I’ve not had any personal experience with “light” tuners like these so really just chiming in with what I know.

Sperzel bass keys could maybe work too, not sure if they’re mod-free though.

Oh, I don't mind heavy tuners (actually I prefer them), in case there is any option on that side. That Peavey weighs a ton :smug:
