Whoa now what pickups are those?? You did an mjt refin right? Worth it?

I'm not sure how much EGC neck shapes have changed over the years (also not exactly sure of dating on this one) but it's a bit more comfy/round than I expected. Not too slim not too thick. I like it quite a bit.

Dunable Baphomets. I had a local luthier do the custom routing and wiring. I wanted pickups that were fairly hot and just something different as I'm not really too much into P pickups personally. Dunable do make Jazz and P pickups though and from their demos they do sound really nice.

Yep, was refinished by MJT. They are very, very good. Their turnaround is pretty quick and they are in contact with you through the whole process and will do anything as far as color and detail. Mine was their light relic in a dark Charcoal Frost Metallic. Highly recommend them if its in your budget - they do charge extra for poly stripping though which does add a bit. But they did exactly what I wanted. And as far as worth it, yes, to me - I like my guitars beat up as I'm already pretty rough with them to begin with. But I did opt to get a darker version of their stock color and only a light relic as I'm bound to add a lot more just through regular wear and how I play (and sweat lol). But the nitro finish is very durable and professionally done. It's definitely putting a lot of money into something that's just a finish but if you really like your bass' body and its a keeper, then its worth it.

Interesting about the neck, seems like you scored a really nice one! And that red body does look really nice with the aluminum!

thought they might be baphomets. have a Dunable guitar that I waffled on baphomets for but ended up with direwolves.

Funny, the only thing I don't really dig about it is the red which is why I was curious about mjt. I'm not at all attached to the body (just some Squier body) so I'm not sure what route I want to go yet.

Pickups are likely the first change though.

Well, I got a Nate mendel body in the mail from stratosphere today. Couple of odd things.
1) the screw holes don't line up with the egc neck I have. After taking the neck that I got off the body it came with its clear that the body had the holes enlarged to fit those. But…

2) the neck pocket on the mendel does not appear to be the normal fender depth (5/8" or 16mm)

attached some pics. Any thoughts as to why either of these problems might exist?

The Mendal signature is an interesting model it seems. I don't have any experience with it but it does have a smaller radius with the neck and the curvatures of the body are different from a traditional P bass, especially at the neck joint. I can't tell but it seems like a slightly smaller body then a traditional P bass? Maybe there's something to that with the different neck pocket alignments?
