Aluminum Neck Club

The Mendal signature is an interesting model it seems. I don’t have any experience with it but it does have a smaller radius with the neck and the curvatures of the body are different from a traditional P bass, especially at the neck joint. I can’t tell but it seems like a slightly smaller body then a traditional P bass? Maybe there’s something to that with the different neck pocket alignments?

It’s a standard p bass size in terms of the body.
Hmm. Guess I’ll have to return it. Bummer.

I have to throw something in the round: the obstructure is made entirely of aluminum. With Travis Bean the strings swung on a continuous piece of aluminum.
An aluminum neck on a wooden body is a mixture of wood and aluminum.
In this case I would prefer to work an aluminum profile into my wooden neck.

Normandy makes great stuff! This also popped into my head almost immediately (the TAR instruments!)

At least one factory fretless TB-2000 has a radiused fingerboard.

Look up the Travis Bean pan back instruments, that's pretty much exactly what you're talking about except it's a single piece neck and rear body pan

Anyone have any recent history/experience about inquiring EGC about neck ordering? I reached out a bit ago about short scale bass necks (30"), I got a timely reply stating they do indeed make them and are available for order. I wanted to get some further info in a reply, I initially stated I was very interested in making an order. I replied asking about neck specs and continuing the order process but unfortunately have been ghosted since.

I'm really wanting an aluminum neck for my Mustang, willing to throw money at someone for it but it seems like such a niche product that I've never seen one before (besides old Kramers).

EGC does not make 30" (4 string) bass necks, only 30" baritone/bass VI necks. I got a reply after a second inquiry.

Picked up a Kramer 6000B today, but it has dot inlays instead of the regular crowns.
Does anyone here know if that's possibly a replacement neck, or did they also make the 5000/6000 with dot inlays?
