Ha, I wondered about this after looking at a few pictures of Bean guitars. I wonder how difficult it would be to mount them to the pickguard instead of through the body.

I can’t figure a way to install it other than the way it’s supposed to installed, lol!
Honestly, while this pickup fits the physical dimensions of a TB2000 pickup, it’s not going to sound anything like an actual TB2000 pickup, due simply to numerous differences in materials & construction.

Thank you for the pictures! Yeah, that looks tricky to install. You could probably design some sort of plate that would mount the pickups, then the plate would mount to the body or pickguard. I suppose the upside is that it appears you'd have a lot of leeway to do that, because those pickups are very thin. You'd also have to build a pickup ring which presents another challenge if you went the pickguard route.
Looks great! What's your thoughts on it as far as quality and shape of the neck? Any idea how much it weighs? I was thinking about ordering one of those in the near future
This is the hollow version. With the tuners it weights ~1470g (3.25 lb, I think). Feels very high quality and sturdy. Generally a similar profile to a Fender, see these pictures with my MIJ Jazz.
2 friends of mine have them for guitar. One friend bought one of the very first necks made and quality was decent, but not great. Friend #2 bought one about a year ago, and the quality of it is great. I've heard a lot of great things about the necks lately and also a lot of trash talk about the company because of his political beliefs.

Interesting. Maybe I haven't followed them hard enough. I'm not interested in sharing my money with a POS. Anyone care to elaborate?
That being said their pricing and specs are very desirable to me. Maybe I am reading it wrong, but it seems like their necks aren't as thin as most of the other builders. Also being chambered looks to be standard which is cool. Also, I kinda like the "metal" looking headstock on their 2x2 option.

I followed it closely online on the Aluminum Facebook groups and it is 100% blown out of proportion and conjecture. The owner is a hunter and a republican. He had a trump flag on his boat on personal FB page and people lost their mind. As far as I can see, he never made any harsh, derogatory or political statements related to his business. It's just a small group of people who were personally offended and started a lot of poopie online.
It sure seems like it's blown out of proportion, but thought I'd mention it as some people really get riled up about it. Both of my friends that have them are politically left of center and had no problems giving him their money, but they did get angry comments on some of the FB aluminum neck pages when they posted their builds. I'd buy a Hoxey bass neck, but I don't like the headstock shapes that he offers at this time. He's doing Fender licensed guitar necks now, and I'm hoping there's a bass neck soon.
The headstock aesthetics is what's keeping me away from Hoxey, I just don't personally find them attractive at all. While it can be kinda trivial, headstock design and aesthetics are a big selling point for me, especially for the price investment of this particular market. Same goes for Aluminati - obviously nothing against their craftsmanship, I would love to eventually get one and support them given they are local to me here in Asheville.
The Baguley symmetrical SBS headstock design is very appealing to me. I like the more minimalistic EGC/TB design aesthetic. And I personally like Robot Graves' asymmetrical design, I'm just hoping he eventually starts producing hollow-core/lightweight necks.

@Iommian Yeah, that Baguley Symmetrical SBS would be my first choice aesthetically. I don't dislike the "metal" looking 2x2 from Hoxey at all, but do fear I'd get tired of it sooner. RGI's looks great, been following his stuff for awhile.

Headstock aesthetics is the reason I bought the Alef neck. It looks fantastic, but at 4 lbs, I need a very heavy body to avoid neck dive. I then bought the Aluminati neck because of the lightweight, and I wanted to try a carbon fiber fretboard. I don't like the headstock on that neck at all, but it's a great feeling neck. I recently reached out to Aluminati about Baguley or Alef shaped headstock, and maybe he will if enough people ask about it...
I'd 100% would buy an Aluminati neck right now if they offered a headstock design in that kind of style. Did they reach back to you, or was the if enough people ask their response?
I think Aluminati would strongly consider it if they get enough inquiries about it, especially if they know they could lose a potential sale
So my latest project, a 1979 Kramer DMZ 6000B. Overall in not bad shape, needs allot of TLC and serious cleaning. One of the Schaller tuners is broken, but managed to find a replacement set in Germany at Warwick. They still have stock of the old style tuners Kramer used. Also the frets are bad shape. At the shop now to see if they can Plek it or if it needs new ones.
