Aluminum Neck Club

This bass is such a hammer but god dang it's an anchor. I guess to get the brutal heft you need actual heft eh?

Specs as follows:
- 2 piece Mahogany body
- Aluminati brushed aluminum neck with carbon fiber fretboard
- Hipshot ultra light tuners,
- Leo Quan Badass III string through body bridge,
- Dunlop strap lock system
- Nordstrand big single pickups
- VVT controls with CTS pots, tone pro dual contact jack

I really love my Aluminati aluminum/CF neck. I thought I'd hate the anodized neck, but it plays so smoothly and my hands don't stick to it when they get sweaty. I just wish they'd do a retro looking headstock and a lower price

I placed an order too, I asked for a refund on my deposit because my basement flooded, they at first said they would, but now they have a cash flow problem and can't, whatever, I know they don't have to refund me so I am not complaining about that as it's my problem, but maybe bug them a little, they even started a Go Fund Me page. Just sayin'

Damn, sorry to hear that. Hopefully they will end up processing the refund. Yeah looks like they got a few issues going on. I did get my neck Tuesday after 9 months and few follow up emails. I havent fully assembled the guitar yet but gotta say it does feel and look awesome.

Finally got this wired up and assembled! Great for doom and cave man sounds.

30 scale tuned E1 so a bass vi pretty much. Added a push pull tone activate, emg presence, and fishman Abasi pups

Can you tell me the thickness front to back at the nut and the nut width?

Mostly the super thin profile mixed with the weight. I sustained and wrist/forearm injury last year, and since then thin profiles make my wrist cramp up, and having to hold the weight of it triggers my tenosynovitis. My big lanky hands have been preferring big fat p bass necks lately.

I don't have your condition but can't abide with thin especially front to back either. There isn't an example of any aluminum neck companies out there that seem to produce anything even remotely reasonable. They're all super thin.

I did an informal poll here on a neck thread and I can tell you that there are way more people that at the very least prefer some girth from front to back. Something that supports your hand. I believe that this is why you see so many people buy these neck and then just get rid of them. They've misread the market that might like a narrow nut width and have conflated it to "let's make it a pencil". Just stupid. Also as a note I don't have big hands, they're pretty average sized.

I think the reasoning behind it is weight, since it's a solid piece of aluminum leaving an extra 1/4 inch all around would probably add some significant weight. My egc necks and Baguley are 4+ lbs. It seems like aluminati has gotten around this by making hollow necks with a more standard profile, making the whole neck about 2.5 lbs. Also full neck through Travis beans use this same principle.
