The overwhelming reason something/anything doesn't sell after a reasonable period is price. If you don't need to move it quickly (or at all), then you can maintain your price & hope that someone bites. And maybe someone will. How long that might take, though, is the question. But if you do need/want to move it sooner rather than later, then you'll need to reduce the price in some fashion. Pretty simple.
Where did I say to price anything super low? I didn't. I only said if the item(s) doesn't sell after a reasonable period & if the seller wants/needs to move it, then a price reduction is necessary. If the seller doesn't need to sell soon (or even at all), then he can wait for a (niche) buyer to come along. Might be sooner, might be later. Again, simple.I disagree with this- while you are right that pricing things super low is the best way to guarantee a quick sale (to someone who will likely just flip it for a profit), lots of cool stuff is in a niche market because of interest and perceived value and as such takes longer to connect with the right buyer. A Blueline SVT will always have niche value because if it's iconic stature and dwindling stock of well-functioning/ cosmetically-clean examples so while you may find folks willing to sell them cheap for quick money, there will also remain a smaller marketplace for collectors looking for an easy and nice buy (and these are the people that will likely be looking for more professional photography and specs in the listing).
I was merely pointing out the way I thought your logic applied- ie: to make a quick sale. Otherwise patience and good presentation are the key (IMO). I've never had trouble selling anything at a reasonable price as long as I had the patience to find the right buyer.Where did I say to price anything super low? I didn't. There are just some people who are highly resentful that so many of us love SVT's. Ampeg is the Fender of amps...so popular that so many who don't use them have an irrational hatred of them.why are all these poor people upset over a vintage svt?
Sme people on TB can't stand that everyone doesn't think the same way they do.why are all these poor people upset over a vintage svt?

op wait till tax time, if it can. during tax time if you have good photos and a good ad it will sell easy.

I don't see anyone being upset or resentful about the type of amp here? I even just went back and reviewed this whole thread just to see if I'd missed something, and I still don't see it. I see a guy who's trying to sell at the 'top of the market' pricing for an amplifier and discussion about how to either do that effectively or why its not working for him in the way he's doing it.
Minus some trolling behavior, which was unrelated to the amp (which has since been removed by the mods), I can't see that anyone is making negative comments about the quality of the amplification.
IMO it's at least 20% too high and I don't think that will change in the near future regardless of tax time or whatever. Also I wouldn't expect to get back what you put into it for tech service. Maybe part of the value of the new tubes though. It's a tough market these days and your pool of potential buyers (interested and can afford it) is very small. I like SVTs but honestly top dollar 80+ lb bass heads are a tough sell.
or theyre upset we can lift 80 pounds up over 50 inches.
