I've never like the Ampeg sound alone, but I have to say that I played through a borrowed B2re and a 410hlf once and it was the best I've ever sounded (at least to myself) in the mix.

There's nothing wrong with NOT liking Ampeg. I don't care for their stuff.
I've tried every ampeg I can get my hands on and I just cant seem to get a good sound out of any of them...
