Walmart has this at the same price, but OOS. Guessing this was another amazon-walmart pricematch loop. One lowers the price, the other lowers to beat it, the first lowers to beat the other, and so on. Seen it happen on a lot of things, gotten some crazy deals

Well other than the "large cosmetic imperfections" haha. I can just imagine the look on the face of someone working in the Amazon returns department when they see one of those returned to them ("oh man this got really damaged in shipping. I feel so bad for the customer. I better mark this down a lot when I put this back up for sale.").
