Color me impressed! The Schecter arrived today. Just unpacked it and plugged it into my studio monitors and it's a nice bass even at the regular price. At just above $400 I feel like it's a steal. According to my unscientific digital bathroom scale, it's between 9.6 and 10 pounds. I'm used to a Lakland 5501 in ash, so this one doesn't feel much different in weight than that one. Might even be a little lighter. Straight out of the box it's got pretty nice action. Set up fairly low, and I like it kind of high so I may adjust that after a bit. Intonation is only a hair out on the E and A strings at the 12th fret. Really dig the flat black...nice and stealthy. The back of the neck is also matte, which makes it nice and easy to play up and down the neck. Hardware is all black chrome, so that's pretty sweet. The blend/balance knob for the two pickups is a bit stiff toward the MM pickup side, but that'll probably work out with time. Overall a really nice bass!
