Well, I did say ‘electro adjacent’ :)
That track was awesome. My next record (which is about 90% done) is just more playful and basic than most of my other stuff.

Nautilus is a complex delay network inspired by sub-nautical communications and their interaction with the environment. the pedal does sound cool, but I would probably use it only on final mixes.

I don’t see the point in doing this in real time with a tape emulation pedal when plenty of pluggins work fine.
I wonder if the pedal can be saturated like a true tape reel? That is a freakin awesome capacity of analog tape.
I miss my Tascam 4 track, #$&h the hipsters that drove the prices up.
Any bets as to when the tipping point of this thing getting wayyyyyyyy over used?

If anyone's interested, Elektron just released a new OS upgrade to the Digitakt, Digitone and Syntakt that includes a 'song mode.' Similar (but I think improved) version of the Octatracks Arranger, which I've never once used.For most, I think the Beaty of Elelktron boxes is for live playing, but I suppose a song mode can always be a good thing to free up the hands to do other tasks

And there's a Perfect Circuit sale going on though tomorrow.
There's a part of me that still wants a Tracker but the Octa is still interesting. So... both I guess :)

...Interesting video side-quest has turned into a sampling exercise. With the new MBP I've been toying around with iMovie and trying to align some audio samples with pictures and videos. This exercise is changing how I think about the length and structure of samples and the compositional assembly of those unrelated samples. Storytelling is storytelling. Who knew :)

Okay, so it took close to a month to get from "the home music space is frozen" to actually sharing something, but here's today's Super 6 noodle. I'm messing with the new MPE, as well as internal modulation. No effects outside of the 6 and a little compression and EQ in Logic.

The delay may have something to do with a Mix For Others That Won't Die but that's a whole other conversation.

I am going to buy monitor stands though, to get them off my desk and higher up.

I LOVE the M8 tracker and if I were going to get a eurorack sequencer, it would probably be the NerdSeq, but I’ve never able to get on board with the Polyend tracker for some reason.

Bought a plugin bundle from Noise Engineering today. It’s the Basimilus Iteritas, 3 other synths (can’t keep up with all their goofy names) and the Ruina distortion and Desmodus.
The BAI in plug-in form is crazy good. Way easier to dial in a sound. I’ll be making a bunch of loops with that thing. Sounds amazing. The other synths seem cool, but more of a deep dive, so time will tell. The Ruina and Desmodus seem ok (at best) when used very sparingly. I’ve never been able to fit Noise Eng. particular distortion sound into my stuff. I dunno, so far…maybe occasionally, but probably not. The BIA plug-in by itself is $49 and well worth it. The whole bundle for $119? Maybe. I’ll need more time with the synths.
