cool. it’s not exciting (can be boring af), but you can really tell when you get it right… and i’m into small victories.
Agreed, valid and worth while progress is almost always in very small increments.
That’s why many give up when it gets hard, you can’t take time off.
Just keep at it, even when it sucks and it seems that your not going forward at all.
Embrace the “suck”.

Here's a video I made recently,
From 3.35 it is mostly bass using the Meris Enzo through fuzz pedals etc.
There's real bass throughout also for the high up delay bits.
Drums from 1st section is a Behringer Rd8

Not really, if you’ve been doing it 20 years.
But one thing I consider primordial, concentrate on ONE thing to work on at a time.
Don’t mix complex fingering exercises you don’t have “mastered” with “rhythms” the screw you up easily. That’s a recipe for practicing everything wrong. Time well wasted.
Even turn off the click when incorporating/internalize/comprehend some new information.
The brain can’t learn when overwhelmed with new information.
Learning how to practice is one thing I’ve learned through trial/ lots of error and experience.
I got a part of the way through it. I’m definitely coming back for the rest when I have time.

A 7.30 min music video is a big ask!
It started off as one track and then got turned into two along the way. Pareidolia One and Two. When I went to make the video I rejoined them. On the LP they are two tracks.

What is that reverse delay used? very tastefully placed in the mix btw.
Sounds like a CT5 in reverse mode 1. ( im guessing wrong, but its very reminiscent)
7min30 is peanuts for us regulars here btw, it was probably @monsterthompson couldnt listen to it all atm. He was certainly
“busy” on the PC website or checking put specs fpr his barritone.

Do you mean the high(ish) bass melody?
If so it was the filter with ring mod (I think) on the Meris Enzo with a pickle pie. It was a while ago and I’d just bought the Enzo so I can’t remember exactly. I sold it recently as I was only really using the filter. I got an OC5 and dreadbox kinneman instead.

There's been a glut of people claiming "AI art isn't art" lately and snidely referring to people who use the tools as "typists." This is a pretty great counterexample. I know stuff like Stable Diffusion can be problematic, but so can a camera, or a pencil, or more accurately, the human brain. I think we have more hope of fixing the problems AI causes than the problems humans cause on their own
I have a good feeling about my new ambient chainsaw.
Working on sequencing tonight. I think I might end up wanting a Euclidean sequencer. I know the Oxi got some love here.
I think what I’m after is the ability to create two free running sequences that only restart together at the first push of “play.” What I’ve got with the Erica is a sequencer that lets me create Seq1 at say 5 steps and Seq2 at 7 steps. My expectation is that they’d just run straight through and then sync up ever 35 steps. What happens is the Erica requires you to set a master Seq length. If I set that at 7 then Seq1 plays 5 steps through, starts over while Seq2 keeps going, then when the “master” completes 7 steps Seq1 & 2 each start over on step 1.

Had to wrote a song for one of my old skate friends who passed away a few years ago. I filmed some of this with a GoPro on my board. At 40, I was proud I didnt bust my ass. Some nice sounds from the Sirin and SubPhatty.It was around 1937
Naw, maybe around 1980? Rode for a small, long extinct company called…Ampul?
I was actually ‘in’ the Dogtown/Z-Boys doc in a way…I was skating the same park the day they shot footage. It was mostly the dogtown dudes telling the rest of us to get out of their way
