Cool. Reminds me of some of the sounds I've gotten from looping various effects pedals together.

Re "music" vs. "noise": I call it "sound art" and leave it at that.

I have several recordings of pedal loops. This one is one of my favorites, because of the sound that starts around 2:30 or so. As always with these things, this sound is absolutely unreproducible, no matter that I tried to take notes on how the pedals were set up. Even with exact knob settings, the sound of the loop is affected by whatever triggers it and the results are too chaotic to control. So this recording is all I have of this particular sound for now.

Yeah, that magic of the search! One of the cool things about the Grone is that it's all self-contained, with the weird bytebeat oscillator, the filter, LFO, noise, and Clouds.

With that pedal loop, are you playing bass or is it all internally generated within the pedals?

I'm really liking this. Once you get the hang of the second layer of options it's easy to dial in.
People were really making a meal it online which is what people do online I suppose.
I've the Taiga sitting in the corner, in it's Thomann box, there too that I'll get stuck into over the next few days.
That's the dessert synth.

I tried to make a passable tune quickly using only the Nymphes with minimal processing.
Added some techno rumble in Reaper but the drums are all from the Nymphes.

It's all pedals only. One of the outputs is routed back to an input. I'd have to check my notes but I think that particular setup was two loops interacting with each other via a Boss LS-2.

Honestly I don't see the point. The LS-2 makes it easy to mix in two loops and some stereo pedals have two inputs, but after a while what I get is just a jumble of nonsense. I don't know how 3 loops will make much of a difference. If it can be made to sound like more than one distinct voice then maybe it's worth a look.

That said, if I can get a stereo output and move things around the stereo field maybe...hmm. With enough pedals to swap in and out the possibilities are endless, and so is the time you can waste sitting on the floor twisting knobs randomly lol.

"Wasted" implies not. But sometimes it is well-spent. Depends on what my goal is.

Mostly, when it comes to music, I have an idea in my head and I'm trying to figure out how to get that idea into reality using my knowledge and the available instruments and equipment.

So, for example, I think of a melody and then I work it out on the bass, or I think of a soundscape and I patch up a synth to achieve it. I enjoy the challenge of "solving the puzzle" I suppose.

But chaotic, unpredictable pedal-looping experiments don't do that for me. It is basically rolling the dice to see if you win a prize when you come up with a cool sound. It's fun, but I don't feel like I had any real input or control over the process, it's all luck, and it's usually not even reproducible. The initial pedal setup came from my mind, but the resultant sound came from chance. It's not like I'm "playing an instrument" or doing anything deliberate.

So it's fun for what it is but it's not usually a move toward my next goal. It may build up a library of cool sounds to sample later, though, I guess.

I think for the modular crowd, setting up a system is doing something deliberate. But of course it's all about what process you enjoy and what works for you.

It’s a Gojira FX Tone Bender. The art is a one-off but they have other boxes available with Bender from Futurama. I wasn’t sure what to expect on bass but it’s fun for low gain bass/pedal/mixer sounds. Nice coloration. Decent low end. I haven’t plugged in a guitar yet.
