Just home from Kraftwerk. What an impressive performance. It started very strong with great visuals. Towards the middle/end I got some ear fatigue and the low end had some rumble/mud to me, and the mix definitely got louder. It was a marathon 120 minute set with zero intermission, no crowd work, and only a few moments of silence between tracks. Bravo. I applaud the planning and endurance to make it seamless.
They are doing a week of shows at the Disney Concert Hall with a different show and album focus each night.
I wish I could’ve seen what they were using for interfaces/controllers/hardware. There were times I could see foot movement as if there was an expression pedal on stage, but I couldn’t see a physical pedal from my angle in that light. I even wondered if they used some sort of sensor in the footwear. Regardless, it was a Tour de France… I mean tour de force

The DOS prompt for entering ball.wav and the series of digits for reverb parameters with no user interface was wild.
Making an entire track like that is a genius level that makes feel like a chimp.
It’s iOS only btw.
And no, I have never tried it.

I've been using my Alembicized short scale fretless Guild M-85-II (the AleM-85) lately, working on a cover of the last section of the song Close to the Edge by Yes (been listening to it for decades but it never occurred to me that he was playing it on a fretless!) I decided to do a little solo while I was all set up with the effects, mixer, iPhone, etc., then overdubbed some Moog Grandmother - it's basically a drone (which lets it apply here?) though I threw in a few extra notes here and there.
The Grandmother is direct into the recorder (1010Music Bluebox) - I find it a very comfortable synth, especially for faux bass pedal stuff!

Day 2 of getting distracted and not being productive.
Killer tone and playing as always! And the grandmother sounds great too. And the smile at the end.
Thank you so much. It was the only real improv I did that afternoon (other than while getting my settings dialed in) - I guess I was warmed up from my Chris Squire workout, plus I did get everything dialed in. This is about as fluid as I get! I remember thinking, "this sounds like one of those pre-Jaco bass solos from the early-70s"...
In a way, it was also an excuse to have fun with the Grandmother! (as creepy as that might sound lol) And it was also fun to do my wacky recording technique of recording into the 1010music Bluebox (thanks very much in part to you @JES), then import those tracks into Reaper to edit/add effects/etc., then take that finished track and sync it up in iMovie with the original video - there were no guarantees, something about the iPhone video sample rate being variable, but this time it worked! (I think because I played the iPhone audio in the Bluebox "analog"?)
I have some viewers who are part of my other non-music world, and they say they prefer when I smile in my videos - usually I'm concentrating or just being a musician, but I try and insert the occasional smile - my smile-idol is violin virtuoso Mia Asano - but in this case, I forgot until the end!
More than mildly irritated. I had to troubleshoot my new Make Noise X Pan module. It simply wasn’t panning. I ran the audio into modules with indicators for stereo levels and they showed a panning signal but my ears said otherwise. I wondered if it was the output module. Nope. Better. The mini to 1/4” adapter on my headphones was the culprit. When screwed on completely it made some contact point that resulted in a mono signal. I verified with my backup phones. So now I’ve got the adapter just a little unscrewed and in in a world of lovely ambient stereo width.
I picked up an Instruo Cnōc function generator and it is quite nice. Like, I’m probably getting more Instruo modules now.
