considering that squire used fuzz and tremolo on some yes material, i think it’s okay.

So this came in… haven’t tried with my effects board yet but sounds awesome so hoping will be able to test it soon!

You people! Last night I started reading up on this period of Yes. Other Yes dorks here probably already know all this, but I learned they wrote, arranged, and recorded more complicated tracks piece by piece and then learned to play them, much like many modern artists do. Except Bruford got so annoyed he quit after the recording of Close to the Edge.

So then I went back and listened to Fragile and Close to the Edge again with this knowledge and heard them totally differently. I think the lessons on treble clef instruments also helped, as I was hearing things in the melodies and harmonies very differently as well.

Cool! Learning new things about music helps yme understand old music in new ways.

I enjoyed the experience, so I listened again while doing an expense report this afternoon and I was like “wait, right, these albums seesaw between brilliant and ridiculous” and shut it off.

So thanks! Anyone read Bruford’s autobiography?

took the time to install live 12, better late than never.
haven’t tried it yet cuz im lazy and hate DAW exploring and “practicing” a computer program.
more time on pointlessly practicing bass I guess……..
how’s the latency and CPU management compared to 11.
noticed many users complaining about huge Project file sizes compared to previous versions……

Same as you. Installed but I have not really gone deep with it.

I feel like time spent practicing an instrument always pays off. Time spent practicing an interface subject to regular "updates" doesn't have the same long term payoff.

PS -- should have said "twee" instead of "ridiculous" above. People should be able to like whatever they like.

i'e had the new abelton 12 for a bit. my main happiness is that the new ui works a bit better for my needs. i think there are some other effects in there as well.

in terms of file size: a friend of mine and i were discussing the fact that the more memory a computer has, the more developers can find a way to fill it up. so, as memory becomes cheaper and more voluminous, the bigger the software applications . . .

Saw the “tuning” things in the UI, I have no clue how to use them also a new reverb?
Agreed UI seems cool at first glance, we will see if it’s more efficient once I get some work done in it
