Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Thanks. The Volca synths use a sync signal that, as far as I can tell, is just a square wave pulse. My Moog Mother 32 can accept this same sync signal if you configure it appropriately. The Moogs also accept a MIDI signal via 5-pin DIN jack.

I have a Digitech Sdrum pedal that has an 1/8" jack that outputs some kind of MIDI timing signal, which from reading that link sounds like it is MIDI clock. Using an adaptor I can use the pedal to sync up with my Moogs, which is cool because the Mother 32's tempo knob then becomes a clock divider, a really cool feature.

The trick is to figure out how to sync other, non-MIDI gear to this.

Nothing is ever easy with this stuff, but I guess solving these problems is part of the fun?

Not having a Volca, not sure what it is, but it might be clock.
Someday, someone will invent something that ties it all together.

If memory serves, the Pocket Operators sync on the same pulse as the Volca.

omg, yes

I have been lucky, the places that play electronica / hard rock/metal in my town have decent sound guys and although I’ve had the ‘some mixed better than others’ I’ve never come across that thankfully! I feel for you guys that get that... ambient / post rock / textural just wouldn’t be the same without effects/ non conform bass hah!

Was lucky enough to nab an Eccos from NAMM this past weekend. I made a short clip, definitely not a full demo. But this pedal is very reactive to input, very tastefully done.

i believe it feeds back into itself and you manipulate the sound with the various knobs and switches.
