What I remember doing when I first started those is I started off doing them in the middle of the neck, or maybe around the 4th fret, and then when I got more comfortable, moved them down to the first fret.

Wow. Talk about instant production value. This thing is going to be a useful tool. I “remastered” the 113 track I posted recently. My collaborator used a few plugins, including MatchEQ in Logic when he did a quick pass at mastering that track.
For giggles, I dropped the same source stereo file into Ableton and popped only this on the Master track and tweaked my favorite preset. I hate to undermine the work my buddy did but, I’m initially impressed with my results. I’ll car stereo test it tomorrow.
Actually, earbud testing is clipping in the kick pretty hard. Wondering if my earbuds are the issue or if I pushed the track too hard overall. I wasn’t hearing this on my bigger speakers.

I think one of the things I could find useful would be direct sound manipulation of samples....Elektron has a more affordable machine called Model:Samples which is amazing if you don’t mind a couple potential drawbacks. You can’t sample directly into it. Gotta do it from your computer via usb. I know a couple folks who’ve ditched their octatracks and Digitakts in favor of the M:S simplicity and knob per function stuff. I’ll be sticking with the Octatrack for the foreseeable future. Love the live sampling, 8 separate midi channels (it’s got a nice sequencer) and making ‘scenes’ is genius. I dunno, works for me. Digitakt is also 8 audio channels plus it can sequence 8 midi channels. I have little doubt something better for me may come along at some point, but I haven’t found it yet. Something like an MPC...might as well use the computer as it does all that better. The Elektron stuff feels like instruments in their own right. I prefer that.
I follow a couple folks on YouTube that do glorious stuff with nothing but an iPad. I know it works and you can’t beat the price for the apps, vs hardware. It’s just not fun to me and daddy likes to have him some fun when he’s working on music

I didn't do that but this a very good idea.
First position is quite a stretch for some of those exercises.
Side note....since some of the tempos are really slow, you can also set the metronome to double time.

Interesting. I tend to record and sound design in mono to begin with.
Always test your stereo mix in a mono reference.

Given my fascination with the Buchla Thunder, I can't help but imagine there's an iPad app that can really tap into (no pun intended) that sort of tactile gesture-based UI and make it both musically and proprioceptively rewarding. But maybe it's the fact that the iPad is purely 2-dimensional that leaves it wanting?
The pedal fairy brought me something today, all the way from New South Wales, looks like. Came packed well, in a draw string bag with a nice instructions card.

I'm tellin' ya, delay pedal addiction is a real thing. The Endless Sleeper may be my 7th or so. They are so much fun and they all have different personalities.
I was considering the Caroline Guitar Company's Kilobyte lo fi delay, but the Sleeper edged it out for me.
I also apparently am developing a collection of pedals imported from overseas. I have a couple of Bananana pedals shipped from Japan and now the Sleeper from Australia. My very first pedal, an Arion chorus pedal, was made in Japan in the 80s and I'm pretty sure some of my stuff was made in China and Indonesia, so those count, right?
The hard part is deciding which pedals to use on which day and which project, that and organizing my rat's nest pedalboard.
