Holy crap, this Outward is way more amazing than I realized. Go figure...exploring w the manual proves to open up doors I didnt even know existed. This thing is an ambient machine to itself. I feel like all I need is this goofy rucci 8bit synth and an outward.

It's weird cause I'm one of those people who will read the manual for a new cell phone and I usually dig into all the advanced features tucked in corners...I mean, I am controlling 5 pedals w MIDI on my board at the moment.

I guess I got the outward during a time of intense buying and I'm just now getting caught up on all those hard to get things that I couldn't pass up on since they were so hard to come by. But 10 thumbs up for the outward, I barely got out of one mode during exploring yesterday.

Anyone know of any inexpensive granular pedals? Looking for something to go at the beginning of the chain to then tweak into textures, but everything seems to be $200+. Been holding off on gear, but the GAS is slowly mounting, but can't justify the $ right now. Still paying off the Wavestate, which is the best thing since sliced bread.

I briefly entertained the notion of picking up a Tom's Line Engineering AMO-3 MARIO which is a Bit Crusher, not a Granular Delay, but might be what you had in mind? Might be fine if the expected use is just to generate a bunch of particles for subsequent processing.
They're under $80, so it would have to suck pretty hard not to be worth some fun...

I never followed through though because every example I heard struck me as being a bit too noisy for my tastes.

Yeah, just looked at that. Just seems to make noise, nothing I could really build upon for a decent texture. Not a big fan of noisemakers or bitcrushers, really, as I'm one of those super sonic fidelity/dense complex texture types of dudes. But thanks for the suggestion. I think I just need a Particle, but it ain't in the cards, right now.

Cheer up, all I can afford now are soft synth apps.

The Moog Model D app is quite impressive I must say.

Meh...not really.
Just priorities come first over gear I don't really need. (Which makes all those bass pic threads and what should I buy stuff to feel better while locked up all the more pathetic to me....imo

I have plenty to work with. Just kind of in a rut for the past....hmmm 2 weeks maybe.

I'm by no means complaining about my situation. I'm very lucky considering the global charlie foxtrot....hehe.

yeah, i actually meant to tag @lordradish, but forgot to.

and, fwiw, i have very few "needs" for gear right now (and even less money). maybe a sensel morph (if i could get it to work with my hydrasynth), an iron ether arcing prism.
