Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Yeah....i saw the IE dubterranean also .....sounds freakin sweet.

i have the subterranean. i quite like it. i'm a big of a fanboi for their stuff. their polytope does some very cool stuff. can be chorus-y/vibe-y, but clearer. can also do almost ring mod-sh stuff. the xerograph deluxe does some really nice stuff; it's not just a quack box.

I was referring to the Dubterranean....the new one not available yet.

bass face was one.

too much reliance on the xerograph and not enough delving into the dub for my taste.

last it’s just a personality thing. rubs me the wrong way.
Ya...same here.
He's is a virtuoso....ima nobody.....but.

I hate his "pocket playing " preaching when he plays 9484828485738 notes per sec on tape and live. Never heard him play "the pocket" shizzle.....

Kinda of....hmmmm....a paradox of academic philosophy....

But hey....if he's happy and successful....I'm happy fpr him

My 2 cents

charlie foxtrot?
Nah, not so much that, although I am being rather cautious. Dodged a bullet this week, the chancellor of the VT state colleges wanted to close three colleges, permanently, but there was an overwhelming outcry, he backed off and hopefully will be out of a job, soon. Let's just say I aged about 5 years, this week. This up and down crap is killing me, in terms of the uncertainty, and it kills my desire to play, too, which really bums me out. Although I have spend a few nights on sound design with the Wavestate, so all is not lost. It's kinda weird, because my wife and I do have a pretty decent income, so the idea of about half of it disappearing just freaks me out - not to take away from the millions who are actually devastated and suffering right now, I'm damn lucky.

I think I'll be okay, but I'm just a bit more careful with the money, right now. Most of my pedals are well over 250, so it'd just be nice to not spend so much for now. Got almost 3 grand in that board, which makes me wince a bit, when I think of spending any more.

I totally get that. I am a pretty big Janek fan but one thing that annoys me about him is that he considers himself a pedal head...he is so out of the loop on the pedal scene. Having a lot of pedals from 20 yrs ago doesnt mean you know whats happening w pedals these days. He mentioned just hearing about this new company Meris probably within the year. :rollno:

I do like his positive vibe and I have learned a lot from him. He inspires me to play more...but I totally see how he can rub people the wrong way and sometimes he rubs me the wrong way too.

cool. i thought you were looking for granular pedals under $200. cft might've foot the bill.

sorry about the stress. it's an amazing time . . .

Oh, wait a second, I thought Charlie Foxtrot meant clusterf***, hence the sob story. What's the CF pedal?

ha! i actually know a pedal you guys don’t! proud!

does some really random stuff. i personally find it hard to reproduce *exactly* what i want it do *when playing notes into it*. my favored mo is to put it in a chain of stuff to mangle loops from a ct5, which i then reloop.
