Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

HOW have I NOT HEARD TORTOISE before tonight?

My introduction, via an EHX Octave Multiplexer thread on the EHX forums:

Maybe not "post-rock" but it hits my buttons for "textural", so I jumped ears first down the touyube rabid-hole and am currently listening to this:

I'll try to peep back in the thread and skim through in a veiled effort to "catch up", but I find I never can and never do — hope y'all are well. Greets from the backwoods of HK.

That's what is so awesome about music.
Soooooo much good stuff so little time, it literally makes me anxious sometimes.

Stay safe my friend.

tortoise are awesome :)

After 3 days of going through material to put out and electronic record, I’ve whittled it down from 250 pieces to about 35 candidates. Getting closer! After this one comes out I’ll likely release a bass only ‘single source’ record. Got nothing better to do :)

Please elaborate on”single source bass record” please.

:)

For about a year I was doing music using my bass as the only sound source. Playing bass into samplers, iPad apps, etc, then making full songs out of the sounds

In case this crew hasn't heard:

New drop from CooperFX today called Arcades that takes chips for the effects...also new Count to 5 firmware was released that makes it pretty much a different pedal.

i was searching for the ct5 firmware. everything i found was old. do you have a link?

it might be a moot point, cause it looks like all the old firmware updates require a windows machine to implement them.
