Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Fretless Spector into my Dreadbox Nyx. The Nyx is self oscillating, and has an audio-in jack so I can utilize the onboard reverb, which is from Crazy Tube Circuits.

Dude!!! That’s terrific!

Thanks :)
I’m trying to figure the best way to midi control the pitch with my Novation Circuit as a controller. The synth is paraphonic, so I should be able to have a root drone and a melodic accent from the synth, and play along with the fretless.

Solid plan! Looking for a similar thing myself. Just not sure how I want to get there :)

Ok, this jam is far from finished, but...
A friend loaned me an Elektron Digitakt to see if I’d want one for my live thing. To test it out, I sampled one single bass note and mangled it until I got this...hope to have this piece done in a week or two, but here’s the work in progress

Finally decided on a sampler for now. Went with the Elektron Digitakt. Super small and powerful. Great for writing on the road. Sampled in two different bass parts, mangled away and came up with this in a hotel room in Memphis last weekend. Added a live bass part and mixed in Logic when I got home yesterday

Nice. Don't tempt me to buy more gear :)
I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on a Make Noise 0-Coast and a new laptop. I'm getting a high powered 15" MacBook Pro with a 2.8GHz i7 CPU, on the 2015 hardware format (old USB ports > USB C). I hope this will allow me to process live audio faster, with minimal latency, and still run MIDI instruments. I'm not sure how well this will work, but I can't really use my current i5 13" laptop to do that in a live setting without killing the processor and glitching out.

I would think that laptop should work great. An O=Coast has been on my short list for awhile now. One day I’ll break into the modular thing!
