Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

I like this, what effects were used?

Cool, thanks. It was mostly done with EQD Afterneath into Auria DAW and then edited and run through some of the Fab Fliter plugins. I also ran Afterneath into an app called Soundscaper for some of the more sustained parts. The bird sounds were the only non-bass generated sounds, that came from messing around a bit with Soundscaper into Auria.

I like Soundscaper a lot! Haven’t used it on a recording yet, but plan to. I use Tardigrain a lot lately, as well as a few others

Ambient rehearsing today, and a different gig tonight. Gonna be a big day.

Made some last minute master compression adjustments in Ableton. It’s wild to hear what pops out of the ambience when you start compressing the mix.

Occasionally I think I’d like to lead Ableton, then other times I think life is too short for another DAW learning curve :)

Haven’t heard of Tardigrain, but I will definitely look that up! I’ve only scraped the surface of Soundscaper but it seems like a great app. Can’t wait to really dig in some more.

Unless I’m missing something, there’s not much to know about Soundscaper...just fiddle with the controls until you like it. Tardigrain is one of my favorites for drones and pads. Really cool for that, I think

It’s a game changer. I’m learning tricks daily. Sadly, I’m late to the party, so I’m learning what’s already common knowledge :D

Yeah, it’s a very serious program. My current favorite electronic artist, Nicolas Jaar, is an Ableton ninja. I’m pretty good on Logic and never use computers live, so I got my sites set on either the new MPC X or an Elektron Octatrack, along with my looper for live stuff.

So, a bit of a side-topic, but still sorta related...
Anyone here familiar with using Resolume for video accompaniment of ambient performances? It seems like an industry standard, and quite powerful. I'm just trying to do a little research before diving in.
