I listened to some examples on youtube. Didn't sound anything like the tone I was looking for.
I was originally drawn to Fairfield by Randy’s Revenge and Meet Maude, but ultimately never owned any of their boxes. I was at a pedal show and they had a board w all their stuff on it and I got to spend considerable alone time with it and those 2 impressed me.
side note...after spending some focused time exploring and getting to know Mood, I am pretty blown away. It’s very much a pedal that requires the ability to access knob twists in one way or another, but you can turn one note into a wild array of different sonic soundscapes.

Get the woozy because I selfishly want to know more about it.
EHX Tri Mixer looks like a good utility pedal.

Seems cool, but since 3 loops are all plugged in the same power source 60 cycle hum can be a HUGE problem. Especially if dirt pedals with high gain are involved.
I assume there is going to have some cross talk between those 3 channels also if nothing isolated.
FAIL for not putting an ISO transformer or ground lift.
IMO this makes it useless for me.
Same problem with the Boss LS-2, awesome idea, very good tool. Lacks pro feature. ISO transformer and ground lift. (Not to mention no phase inverter %^&*&^%&*&^)
These features would raise the price but would make for a considerably better piece of equipment.

Édit: traditional mixers dont have this problem since your bass signal is either coming from a MIC or a DI (in hope the DI has and ISO transformer, ground lift and phase inverter.)

I've never had a problem using the LS-2 for mixing two synths...just lucky?

Are you using it only at home? If you sing also this can cause you to get major electric shocks from the Mic since you will become the ground to complete the electrical loop.
If you gig with it in a place with horrible electricity wiring prepare for noise. I’m not gonna cary around a 20lbs 200$ transformer to use a Boss pedal. Even if I dig Boss shizzle.
Go buy a lottery ticket.
That’s the reason ISO power supplies are so important on gigs. (For pedal boards, I never used one for my amp.)

Just wanted to say, I haven't been reading this thread much the past week or so - partly with what's going on in the US, my thoughts are elsewhere - but this morning I decided to go back and catch up on about three pages. I read through everything - so interesting! I guess I'm less interested in the gear (trying to work with what I have) and more interested in the stories of you folks and your journeys in music.
Here is one of the pieces that turned me on to drone music - Takahisa Kosugi - he was a member of Fluxus and founder of Taj Mahal Travellers.
