Is it a kit you buy or simply the schematics?

Just showed my kids the koala sampler.......lets just say I have plenty of fart noise samples now.....

I’m slowly building a second small sound tinkering\manipulation\noise....something board.....piece by little piece. (The other one is permanently at the rehearsal space with the band so I can’t always use it at my place)
Was looking up the boss DD200 but it’s a bit over my budget atm.
I think I’m going to get an old crusty Boss PS-2 instead (i like the sound better the the glossy clean PS-3), awesome combo of delay and pitch shifting.
Added plus, it keeps the sound going even when toggling between the different modes of said pedal.
But I can still get around with what I got.

And that koala sampler app is only 4$....so not gonna bust your budget on that one.
Even if you use it as a simple field recorder it’s worth every penny IMO.

the ps-2 is really good. its delay is nothing to sleep on. really short times with a lot of feedback are useful for making sproingy (tm) sounds. i liked to play grooves and turn the delay on for a note here and there. at one point i was trying to have mine modded so it could be a momentary rather than latching switch. (the dd-500 can do this when you program the tap switch as an on/off, though it doesn’t sound quite the same.)
yeah, me too, but i start wondering how i can put stuff in my bass strings, etc., to make similar sounds.
I just put almost all of my effects away...I was getting distracted. I just have Tensor, a reverb and a looper (for practice). Happens from time to time that I need to put the toys away. Less can most certainly be more, and certainly more challenging......of course that didn't stop me from using my paypal credit on a new reverb pedal.....yeah...I have a problem.
What reverb did you end up with?

Tensor has become one of my favorite pedals ever. Took a little time, but now I'm crazy for it.
Have always wondered about the Blackout Effectors Cadavernous reverb. The company isn't in business any longer unfortunately, but the the sound and feature set seems right for what I like. Can get 100% wet, separate dry/wet controls means I can control the volume (boost if I need), and has a self oscillation footswitch. Really looking forward to checking it out.

That one sounds crazy good. Especially with the gain control at the front end.....soooo cool.
Thoughts on building a digital model of this? I'm thinking of Zoia or Reaktor.
I'd link up an audio source to feedback on itself, with a variable control on how much signal feeds back. I could place an EQ module in the feedback loop to mimic the 10-band EQ in the hardware. Then I can pass the output into a reverb module.
I'm concerned about the feedback behavior in a digital system. It won't act like it does in a physical system. I'm thinking it will go from zero to insanity with very little wiggle room to sculpt the sound.

I dunno I like things that make noises that I can feed into other things to manipulate those noises. I also love the medium of tapping on something flicking a spring or spinning a knob to control the sound. There's SO much to explore. I've been eyeing lots of electro faustus stuff lately too. Traditional synths might be too traditional for me.
Agreed. Ya gotta have some interaction to feel like you're "playing" the device.
I'm serious here:
Take a 2x4 or any hollow wooden box, 2 nails and take any springs you want and stretch em between the nails.
Add contact mic and plug into pedals of your choice.
In this case an EQ pedal feeding a reverb....
Contact mics are awesome. Crank sturgeon makes some crazy variations of contact mics. Even some that go underwater
i think it's good to change your thing up now and then. give your ears a rest and recharge to do something else.
and, since i seem to be on this tip today, i think it's interesting to see what kinds of sounds you can get from different right-/left-hand techniques and as well as using other implements, etc.
