See, exactly. 3 people, 3 different experiences and opinions on the OCT pedal thing.
Thats a good thing, everyone is different. From what I remember the Sub N up had a weird filter opening with the OCT up , just like the new OC5. Was the thing that turned my off those.

Bottom line, try it and find out what works best for you.

IME, IMO, YMMV.....etc......

Like I previously mentioned. The nano and micro pog apparently have different circuits.
This experience of yours seems to confirm this.

Almost everyone seems to say the micro is "better"...from what I've read. I've never a/b them myself.

yes, I believe they do. I tried them side by side in the store, so it was an actual comparison. But like you, I hesitate to say “better” when all I know is “works for me”.

Phew. I got it figured out now.
I'm using two mixers this time, along with a BoredBrain Terminal and a Transmutron. The Transmutron is allowing me to crossfade my Medusa Synth between each mixer and (one routes to Zoia, the other to the Empress Echo). I forgot I rigged the transmutron so the signal can go to each mixer path. I thought it was rigged so it only passed audio for the Bass or the Synth signal, but when I got audio through both I was very confused.

Yeah from the demos the sub n up and the boss oc5 seem to have a filter on the octave up... some people seem to think it’s to stop too much pickup Boise or other artifacts but if it’s not used solo it could work well...

my only experiences I’ve really had was an ancient boss PS3 which tracked horribly (was more a feature I guess with its warbling and trumpet sounds)and the bass whammy reissue..didn’t want to head down the mooer etc path as didn’t want glitchy warbly organ stuff! Thanks everyone for insights :)

Lol long gone when I got the bass whammy reissue... it was good for adding a turbo rat and a delay afterwords when I created my “bass whales in space” noise piece years and years ago when mr pickles did the noise compilations.

Had another night of ambient streaming fun last night. Tried using SonoBus (it is free) instead of Zoom for sending audio. We’ll see how that works out for the final product. Preliminary impressions were that the audio was better than Zoom, but Zoom was still needed for video, so both were used.

Found some new uses for the filtered delay engine on the Empress Echo.
